Name that Orange Cat Vol. 2.0!

Okay, we need to name this guy:

http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/1236/shirtqt6.th.jpghttp://img515.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif

Things to know about him:

Cuddly to the EXTREME!
Playful
Curious
Meows constantly (and kinda sounds like a lamb, hence the "Lambert" option J insisted on)
Follows us everywhere
Huge, adorable eyes
Most affectionate cat ever and LOVES people

Okay, so cast your votes, and if you have any other ideas please post them! We want a name that is distinctly a cat-name. We've tried watching him and getting to know him, but nothing seems to fit just right.

:(

Lambert! The sheepish Lion! Lambert! He's always tryin' to be a wild and wooly sheep! Lambert the sheepish lion!!

I think that's cute. It's fun to have a cat-theme song. Monchichi has "Monchichi my Monchichi, oh so soft and cuddley!" It took us a few weeks to settle on a name for our little orange buddy (Sir Didymus). It had to live up to Monchichi and Atticus though, so it had to have a lot of pizazz, and I'm also anti-naming-pets-something-you'd-name-a-human.

He's very handsome!! I love the orange kitties  :)>>> I've wanted one my whole life and it took me nearly 30 years to randomly find one. I saw the pics in the other thread too. Looks like he's made himself QUITE at home!! :D

Oh, you have no idea. Within 45 minutes of his shelter foster-mom leaving, he was out from under the bed and exploring everything. When he was satisfied with his exploration endeavors, he started begging to be cuddled. He just can't get enough kisses and snuggles!

He's also learned that there are very few places we don't want him to go, and he's learned the kitchen counter isn't one of those. He likes to watch us cook and do dishes.

Although, he hides under the bed when the front door opens. We can't really figure that out, but we don't think it's bad. At least we know he won't be running OUT the door anytime soon.

He's only been here since Sunday, but he is right at home and seems very happy and well-adjusted. It's gotta beat hanging out in the PetSmart adoption area all day.

I'm mad none of my suggestions made it to the poll  >:(

But I voted for pumpkin because not only is he the color of pumpkin, but also because its a nickname you might affectionately call someone. And you got him in the fall.

it's kind of funny how you will give them a name, but make up a nick name for them.  My last cat was sophie, but I called her so so, or big furry girl.  My cat I have now was named desireh(sp??) but I just call her des or lovey.
does anyone else make up nicnames for their pets?

I just don't like the name pumpkin, or punkin, for an orange cat. I know too many of them. How about mango if we're going with orangey foods?

My cat's name is Magic, but I call him Maj, Gorgeous, Booger, Baby Cat, Kitten Boy, Kitty boy, Pretty Kitty, Pretty Kitty Boy, or Ellliot.

My dog sis in TX is named Silky (not vegan..), but I call her Silks, Bilks, Silks bilks, Silksters, Silk, Bilksters....

Elliot, huh? That's a nice name. I had an imaginary dragon when I was little and I called him Pete, because of the movie Pete's Dragon, but I couldn't remember the name Elliot at that age (which was the dragon's name in the movie).

Hmm.

I almost named him Elliot after my gifted teacher, Ms. Elliot, in elementary school. But, being a seventh grader, Magic just seemed better. I kinda wish I had named him Elliot, so I call him that sometimes. He responds.

an old co worker had an orange cate and named him meho.  thats the first thing I think of when I see your cat.  Its spanish(and probably not spelled right)  meaning little affectionate one, or something like that!

I knew someone that had a cat just like yours, named Pumpkin. She grew up  to be a big fat orange cat that looked just like a pumpkin. Just why I said I loved the name Pumpkin. It reminded me of that cat. She was really cute!

I love the name pouncival! It's a great name :D

Yea my cats growing up were all named after teas. My parents still have Earl Grey - a big grey persian, and Lipton - a tortoiseshell moggy (but we all call Lipton "little girl" most the time). Gumboot and PG Tips are sadly no longer with us.

My babies all have ridiculous nicknames. Our cat is technically named Guiness (I know, not vegan, AC) but I don't think we have ever called him that. Usually its just Cat, or Puss-puss, Meow, Fat Cat, Peg Legs, Fatty-fat, Smoochy-fat, etc. I know those sound mean, but he likes them. He's not really THAT fat, he just has a big belly in proportion to the rest of him, plus his head is small.

Dini's name itself is a nickname. He was named after Houdinni, the escape artist. His nicknames are Dini-dog, Dini-weiny, Dini-head, just Head, Cuddle bunny, Snuggle-puss, Fat-head, Big Oaf

Molly: Little Girl, Pretty Girl, Baby, Molly-gator, Princess Pea Head, Trouble, Brat, Skinny-Minny, Molly-Pants, or just Pants, Whittle-baby Molly. We joke that her full Name is Molly-no-HEY.

It's an old Disney cartoon. Youtube to the rescue!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRtKAQJUc3g

I vote strongly against Pumpkin. I hate obvious names on pets (things like "Oreo" for a black and white animal, "Tiger" for a tabby, and "Midnight" for a black animal go into this category too --- though I am admittedly nuts).

omg, I had completely forgotten that cartoon.   :)>>> I change my vote to Lambert! ;)b

eta: I now have that song stuck in my head. ::)

This was my first time seeing Lambert.  OMG!  Sterling Holloway narrated it.  I loves him.  He did Winnie the Pooh.
