Pet treats?

Sorry if this is obvious, but does VW really not have animal treat recipes? I want to make my kitties and doggy some treats, but I can't seem to find any. Basically, if you have better search skills than I, please give me a link for some veg-friendly animal treats (I even failed with Google for cats). I honestly can't stand working with fish. Bleh.

And I'm not trying to make my cats/dog vegan. I just want an alternative, and I'd like to know what's going into their treats.

one from VR, and one from THHF
I have a book with lots of dog treat recipes. I can type some out for you some day.

I say try the one that I posted. I had to put it in "Other Non Food Items" or something weird like that. I was hoping to find a section for animal treats. Could we request one somehow? Anyway, Oliver LOVES his treats. I baked them long enough that they got crispy and dry, so they sit out and don't go bad or anything. They still hold together pretty well, and they're quite nutritious.

As soon as I can find a container of carob powder that doesn't take up 10% of my weekly food budget, I'm going to get it and try the other treat recipe. Can't wait!

This is not solving the problem of you wanting a recipe to make them food at all. But I've seen two different brands of treats that are just sweet potatoes. My dog likes them. Simple and not 5billion ingredients. (and vegan! woo!)

I saw those apricot ones too! But at the time, my mother was trying to pull the dog out of the store, so it wasn't an appropriate time to purchase them.

Non-food. I thought there was an animal section that I was just missing. Thanks guys. I guess I can just cut some of the dog treats smaller to feed the cats. Those cats will eat anything.

The sweet potato dog treats are sooo expensive at the store, considering they're just dehydrated sweet potatoes. You could make your own (if you are lucky enough to have a dehydrator) or you could bake them at a low temp in the oven for a long time. I also buy dehydrated apricots and cut them into strips for treats for Oliver. I don't do this too much, since they're pretty high in sugar. But he loves them. (But I'm sure you know this: raisins are a doggy no no--I don't know about cats though).

I was also thinking that maybe vegan cat treats would lessen the stink in the litter box a little bit. That stench is atrocious.

I haven't tried any of these yet (but will be soon) but here's what I've found after months of compiling:

http://www.vegandogslife.com/2008/08/recipe-index.html

And apparently I deleted my other links :( Crap, I needed those. This is what I could find online though:

But, by veg-friendly do you mean vegan or vegetarian? And what type of vegetarian? If you look up "pupcakes" than you'll find pupcake recipes (cupcakes for dogs) but most of them use eggs and/or yogurt. If I can find my other links again than I'll leave them here.
