i second getting the book Katica recommended. not only are there lots and lots of different recipes, you can also find TONS of ideas to make variations on those recipes (usually there are several ideas for each recipe) and thus create even more fantastic cupcake goodness.

I have the book for a few months now and every single recipe i've tried was delicious. am particularly fond of the roce-pistacchio-kind. oh, the aroma of roses...... ::)

Definitely agree with the cookbook...I LOVE mine! Also, thanks for the link Saskia! I made the jelly donut cupcakes today and they were delish! My dog, Lily, loved them too! She snagged 2 of them off my cooling rack when no one was looking! ;D

I've been scoping the net for cupcake ideas too and this lady at the 52 cupcakes blog has wonderful ideas and shares her recipes, including frosting!

Enjoy!  I looked over it for hours and hours .... I adapted a recipe from Vegweb http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6686 and then changed the flavours lots of different ways (added banana, lemon, lime, fruit, left out cocoa, added colours etc etc - not all at once of course!) ... this vegweb recipe is a HUGE hit with everyone I make the cakes and cupcakes for. They are truly amazed that it uses no dairy and is so moist  ;D

When I tell them the secret, they don't care - they just want MORE cake  ;) ;) ;)

You're welcome, abrimmer. I was thinking of making those jelly donut cupcakes too. Did you sprinke them with powdered sugar, or did you put frosting on them? Visually, I prefer a swirly frosting with sprinkes, but for this jelly donut cupcake, I think it might be too sweet if you've already got the jelly filling.

Hi Saskia...well, our family has a MAJOR sweet tooth, so I dipped the tops in powdered sugar! :D Gee, I never even thought of putting frosting on them...YUM! I'll have to try that next time! I like pretty cupcakes too! We didn't find them overly sweet with the powdered sugar topping, but it probably depends on what you're used to. I also used an all-fruit spread so the filling wasn't as sweet as if a regular jelly was used.
