Mints!

Alright, so I've heard many a thing about mints not being vegan, and I'll admit that I've never actually looked up the ingredients, so I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what's in mints that make them uneatable. I miss my minty-fresh breath. Not that I don't brush my teeth...
I was under the impression that the chewy ones like mentos have gelatin in them. Not sure about the hard ones though.
If I recall correctly, many of them have stearates--a fatty substance usually derived from pig's stomachs.
Although most conventional mints use some kind of animal derived ingredient, it certainly does not have to be that way (the mint flavor, afterall, is derived from a plant).
