Iud questions/trouble

All right, I was wondering if any of the women on vegweb.com have IUDs? Some stuff has been happening with mine recently, and mine is fairly new as well.
Long story short, I'm pretty sure mine has flipped around and is resting horizontally in me when it should be held vertically. The strings are missing, as well. Do any of you know about problems like these?
I have a paragard IUD, and had it inserted 5 weeks ago. I know the chances of it expelling is higher for the first couple months or so. Still, I'm worried-- gonna get it checked out tomorrow.
If you have any info, that would be really helpful. Thanks.  :ouch:

You are doing everything you're supposed to do. Try to stay calm. It either was expelled, and you don't have to worry about it, or it has moved and pulled the strings up with it; in which case the dr will do a simple procedure to either correct it or remove it.

Sorry I'm not much more help.

thank you--i think staying calm is the one thing I needed to hear right now. I know it hasn't expelled, because (TMI alert) when I push up on my cervix I can feel it laying horizontally inside of me. Really freaked me out--but you're right, the only think I can do right now is just calm down and wait for tomorrow.

I vote yes to that as well. What a great suggestion.  ;)b

My Daughter in law had an IUD that embedded itself in her uterine wall, it gave her an infection, so she had to have it removed. A trip to your GYN should clear up your worry.

So, how'd the visit w/ the doc go?

Went alright--the doctor repositioned it and the string was repositioned too. It was a little wonky in there, but it's back to normal now.
Thank you for your advice!  :)

wow, that sounds pretty rough--I hope your daughter in law is okay.
Things were fixed when I went in though--I didn't even need to get a new IUD, so I'm pleased about that.

GOOD!!

Now take it easy for a few days!! Your body has been pretty hard on itself and needs a period of forced relaxation.

Ha, I have tried my best to have some relaxation--even though I'm in the midst of working on my finals homework. Luckily I can sit on my butt when I paint so that's a bit of relaxation, I think. :)
