Cali....NVR..+ a little gross.....

Hi everyone,

For those who have shown love for Cali...your positive thoughts and prayers seem to be working.  Although still in really rough shape, Cali is starting to detox big time.  She looks a little better and is becoming more social again.  That means she is coming downstairs from her bed to sleep with me on my livingroom floor (renovations).  She is not leaking as much pus, and is not oozing as much blood.  My excitement last night to see her left back side is pus and scab free.  Not a huge area but good enough for me!!!!!  She is on absolutely no drugs.  Stopped all of that about three or four weeks ago.  She is taking healthy supplements and I am back to home cooking full time.  Had her on a holistic pet food for a couple of months while my kitchen was ripped apart.  She will never get pet food again!  I have been home cooking for about 14 years.  I felt very guilty feeding her and the cats pet food for that time.  Her appetite is very good but always was (although she didn't show excitement at the kibble stuff).  She even growled at the cats as she ate their food the last night.  So, some of her spunk is back.
I am rubbing her skin with diluted tea tree oil and water.  Adding Omega Nutrition's Essential Balance 3.6.9 to her food.  Also adding Acidophilus & Bifidus, digestive enzymes, vitamin C, and bone meal.  As well, she is taking a couple of drops of human grade peroxide in some water to add oxygen to her cells as demodetic mites do not like oxygen.  It helps kill them.  She is also getting Beta Carotenoids in her food.  The big breakthrough started about 3 days ago and it was only last night when that patch of skin looked good.  I found my NCD.  Natural Cellular Defense that I had bought for Isabela.  Huge de-toxifier.  The scabs are starting to heal.  Yes, she still has blood and pus but she is not as stanky.  Today, her stool was very dark.  She normally has medium brown ones.  This looked almost black.  The stuff I am waiting for from the states hasn't arrived yet but I got my NCD from the same person.  I am so glad I trusted my instincts and did not give her any more of the conventional product she was on.  I should have listened to my instincts earlier.  She is sleeping a lot and drinking a lot of water.  Both of which she needs to do to heal.  She needs the mega water for NCD as it carries toxins out through the urine.  As I don't think we can tout anyone's horn, you can google the product by the name.  All I can say is I started it three days ago and all of a sudden, Cali is truly getting stuff out of her body.  She still has a long way to go but I am very optimistic and positive now.  I keep telling her of our upcoming hikes and our two week camping trip.  I will keep you all posted and once again, everyone that sent positive thoughts, prayers and good Karma....a huge big THANK YOU!

Smedley, my orange cat went on her bed tonight and kissed her nose.

My Cali IS going to get better.  In my heart, I now truly believe it.

Hugs Di, Cali and the rest of the motley crew.

P.S.  I have been extremely tired from all of this and the renovations but things are going to start changing for me too.  Tomorrow, I start taking better care of myself so I can be there for all of them.  :)

Btw, Cali is mostly bald but she is still as Beautiful as the first day I met her!

Oh, I have been giving her "Rescue Remedy" too.

Hi Di!,
So glad to hear that Cali is doing better :)! I am also really really glad that you stopped everything your old vet was doing, which was obviously making her much weaker, and therefore, much worse. Cali is healing from the inside out, which is the correct way for the body to heal. Her immune system is now being able to function properly because it's not getting beaten down by all of the chemicals and horrible drugs your last vet was giving her. I've seen dogs come back from the "brink" before, and I tell you this now....there is almost nothing in this life more rewarding (that goes for us 2 legged creatures as well). The best part is Cali knows you are the one helping her, she trusts you, and you are doing the right thing for her. I wonder how many sick pets your old vet has killed by use of heavy medications and chemicals on animals with extremely week immune systems?!

I am also really glad that the tea tree oil is working...isn't it amazing?!
.......(weeks ago I told Di to start using tea tree oil to cure the mange that Cali has so severely.....it's something I started doing on my own years ago....and if you ever have a dog get mange...or rescue one you adopt with mange....tea tree oil will cure it...100%....along with a good healthy diet of course).

Please keep us all posted. Oh and from the last time you posted, you wanted to know where Mt. Marcy was.....it's in the Adirondacks, where you said you're taking Cali hiking this summer....it's the tallest Mountain in NY State...I've taken many dogs up to the top since I was about 14.....we'll all be looking forward to seeing a picture of Cali and you high atop Mt. Marcy this summer!

Here's the view from Mt Marcy, taken 2 years ago  ;) Can't wait to see you both up there!

Hi Di,
I perhaps should not have put my foot in my mouth bashing your old vet. That was wrong of me...sorry :-\..as usual (it's getting to be kind of a daily thing for me....I AM AN IDIOT)! From everything you told me when we spoke, I just know that the recommendations she gave you for Cali's treatment were wrong at the time. The vet I use is not strictly holistic. She is both a conventional vet and a holistic vet. I think that sometimes makes the best combo in a vet (and probably in an MD as well). That is more of what Dr. Goldstein is. I personally like a vet that is able to know what type of treatment is the best path to follow at the right time.

Di, that is so great to hear Cali is on the rebound!!  It is so inspiring to hear about the amazing and wonderful things that happen with love, faith, and support despite how nasty things may seem at the time.  You and Cali are such a wonderful example of that!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Pogo.  I'm sure he felt how much you loved him.

Hey diver-di,
What a pretty girl. Iam glad to hear that she is doing better. I am a little behind as I just started posting recently. What happend to her? It sounds really bad especially since she looks so healthy in the pic. If you don't feel like rehashing it that's fine too. I was just wondering.

Cali really is unusual looking and very beautiful. Her eyes have a definite human quality to them. They are gorgeous and she looks so intelligent. It's hard to imagine the hell she's been going through because in the pictures she looks so healthy and happy. I am awed and inspired by your dedication to her. What a lucky girl she is!
