You guys totally rock! Je vous aime beaucoup, individually and collectively.
We had a really good time, even though we had to get up insanely early to make the train. I actually woke up all by myself at 5.30 so I was able to have some PB toast before we left. Walked to the station and it was 28ºC at 6.30 AM, so we were glad to head out of town! Down on the coast it was only like 30º at high noon!
Got into Malaga at 10.30 or so and went to find something to eat and some serious caffiene. Then we went to the Bioparc. I was a tiny bit disappointed because it turns out that it's a LOT smaller than they made it look in the documentary. We saw everything in like 2 hrs. They did have special shows like "Reptiles in Danger" and such as that but we didn't see those. But theyve only existed for 5 years so they may expand later on. My favourite part was the aviary...I saw birds I've never seen before and they were totally unafraid of the people. You could walk right in and the birds would watch you watch them! One blue guy walked right up and gave me the hairy eyeball for a good 3 minutes! I think DH was afraid I was going to be disappointed but hey! It's my birfday! I iz havin a good time!
Then we went to see my husband's best buddy and "committed cake." Sat and chatted with them for an hour or two, which I was ready for. OK, so the biopark wasn't all that big but we had been on our feet for several hours by then. Antonio wanted to drive us to the station but he has a history of making people miss trains so we took the shuttle instead. Malaga trainstation is now a mall (I guess they think it's Schiphol Airport or something) so we killed a little time there until the train. Which got home half an hour late. Tumbled into bed at past midnight after a much-needed shower.
So this year I've had a card, an unexpected present, and my "field trip!" Plus cakeage. What else could I want!
