Reasons to whine

I feel like "reasons to frown" is for more serious business, and "grind your gears" is for genuine, deserved anger.

This is for whining, especially about petty things. Complaints, bitching and moaning welcome.

My reasons to whine:

I'm back in school starting today, and it's a sort of orientation week. As usual, it's pretty pointless. I could be sleeping!

My sheese has a spot of mold on it! I opened it a couple days ago, and it's best by date is Aug 5. >:( (I cut that part off, and am now enjoying some sheese)

in 8 days, I'll no longer be a teeeennnnnaaggerrrrrr :(

I'm on a whine roll:

As sexy as it is to sleep with toilet paper stuck up my nose to keep my allergy snot in place, it's hard to breathe.

hotttt!

Dessie!!! Where have you been?!  You should come round here more often!

wahhhh period time wahhhhh

also: I'm booked for YET ANOTHER football game scene. The long hours of sitting in stadium seats are always SO fun, and this just so happens to land on one of two days out of the month in which everything is EXTRA FUN.

Or when you are going on a long plane/train/ bus trip, or your honeymoon, or both. Any time it can ruin things, it will. :(

I went shopping yesterday to finally start catching up (stocking up) on a few things - we've been pretty short of moneys since our holiday. But I forgot to buy bread or oats. I have nothing I can make for breakfast. :waa:

when I was in school, my favorite breakfasts were left overs from dinner the night before.  (that was before microwaves were available also)  Just an idea.

My RTW:  I was working in pressing pieces for a quilt and was straightening one piece while reaching for the iron and tried to grab it by the face plate instead of the handle.  I was not looking at the iron  >:(  Fortunately, It is just as 1st degree burn on right index and middle finger pads.  Unfortunately, I was despararatly trying to get the quilt finished today and it hurts to work in it now.

THIS.  I just got mine and we're supposed to be going to a food & beer festival this weekend.  As in, walking around outside all day and using port-a-potties.  I'm hoping it won't be such a big deal by then (today is Thurs and the festival is Sun), but I wouldn't put it past my uterus to still be causing lots of trouble.

semiveg, I... actually don't think I've ever had leftovers for breakfast. ??? At least, I can't think of one occasion on which I did - except in the case of frying up cooked potatoes from the day/night before. Maybe I should try it... however, in the case of today, last night's dinner leftovers (lentil bolognese) were reserved for today's lunch, since decent veg*n foods are hard to come by at my work.

yabbit, trust me - if I'd had a spud, I would'a eaten it, hummus or no hummus... but this was, indeed, the first week in as long as I can remember where we actually ran out of potatoes(!! :o). Got some this afternoon, tho.

Heli, I understand.  When I was a kid, Mom insisted that we eat breakfast together M-F.  We lived in the country so the school bus came for me at about 7 AM.  Most of the time, I was stuck with late lunch at school, 1:30, and we were not allowed to eat in or between classes.  A bowl of cereal just did not cut it.  DH thought I was weird when we got married because I thought nothing about eating spaghetti or anything else in the fridge for breakfast.

Oh, refried spaghetti bolognese is the bomb! For breakfast or any other time. And cold pizza too!

I LOVE having non-breakfast foods for breakfast.  Last weekend I had curry for breakfast - I mentioned it to someone at work and they thought I was gross.  Pfft.

My whine: I have been so super busy this week (short staffed at work, loads of deadlines approaching, moving house, unpacking, etc, etc) and so I decided to let myself lie in today......and woke up at 6am WHICH IS EARLIER THAN I HAVE TO GET UP FOR WORK!!!!!!!!!!

Oh poor Shell! Isn't it awful when we do that! I guess it's what my mom called Saturday Syndrome: she played merrie hell dragging my brother out of bed on weekdays for school, but on Saturdays he'd be up at dawn because all the best cartoons were on before 9 AM. He knew that and he was so eager to get started on the weekend he'd be up by 6. Drove her nuts.

I hate it when my body does this.  I'll probably have to have a nap later which is such a waste of time.

ha, i hate it when that happens. you finally decide on a day to sleep in, and your body decides otherwise.

sometimes it just happens to me, other times it's because of anxiety/excitement over whatever i've been busy with.

In the past three months or so, I've decided it's important to eat oatmeal with some form of frequency.  You know, heart healthy, lower cholesterol, yadda yadda, blah blah.  But I don't want fruit in my oatmeal!  I want it to taste like leftover dinner!  Here's my great idea:

I saute onions and zucchini and garlic and mushrooms, and mix it in to my oatmeal.  Sometimes, I add srirachas, or soy sauce, or tomato sauce.  When I'm feeling extra gluttonous, I put daiya shreds on it too.

Breakfast foods can take off (hosers).

Next idea is a mid day snack, in which I make oatmeal with black coffee, and mix in chocolate chips.
