::threw up a little in my mouth::

Remember when we were kids and we went out back and mixed up whatever crap we could find in a bucket and then dared each other to take a sip?

Yeah, it's that stuff dehydrated, cut in strips, and dusted with vegan love dust.

I never liked real meat jerky so I'msure I would hate vegan jerky

My boyfriend used to LOVE beef jerky back in his omni days, so we tried the Primal Strips (soy, we haven't seen the seitan kind yet), and he loved them. If they were cheaper, I think he'd buy them much more often. I agree that if you didn't much like meat jerky, it's a little "meh, what's the big deal?"

i really like the spicy shiitake one better than any. it has the best texture; the tvp and seitan ones were kind of squishy and stringy.

Wow, I'm surprised so many folks don't like these! I think the 'Primal Strips thai peanut' jerky is superyum...  I buy a few sometimes for lunch box or road trip use, but not too often 'cause I tend to eat them all in one day! I think it's a funny name though... I think the reason they're called 'primal strips' is 'cause you have to open the package with your teeth; it never tears right! So I guess that's s'pose to put us in touch with our inner caveperson or something...

;D

I hate seitan jerky =-)  Passionately. That alone makes me glad to be gluten free now.

Health.  Found out I'm intolerant through research + elimination diet. Keeps fugglin' up my thyroid and tummy every time I eat it.

I like the jerky. :) More for me!  I've had a couple of different flavors.  I never really liked animal flesh jerky though.  After I move I bet I'll be hiking a bunch and I can see how this product would come in handy.

I cant stop thinking about the jerky boys and the complete non relevance it has to this thread.

I think Stonewall's Jerquee is way better than the primal strips. They have a certain funkiness to them.

I've tried both Stonewall's and Primal Strips...and Primal Strips won BY FAR for me. Stonewall's tasted like crap and the texture was dry and stringy. Primal Strips on the other hand were moist, had a great texture and the flavours I tried (teriyaki, bbq, mesquite lime) were all totally delicious.
