As for me;
I was curious about why white chocolate is white, so I wiki'd it, found that it was the lack of theobromine (found in cocoa, which white chocolate has none of, except cocoa butter), which I turned and read up on, and found this:
The amount of theobromine found in chocolate is small enough that it can be safely consumed by humans, but animals that metabolize theobromine more slowly, such as dogs, can succumb to theobromine poisoning from as little as 50 grams of chocolate for a smaller dog and 400 grams for an average-sized dog. The same risk is reported for cats as well, although cats are less likely to ingest sweet food, having no sweet taste receptors.
So I learned why chocolate is bad for animals, and that cats have no sweet taste receptors! Pssht, yeah right they don't, why else would mine be constantly licking me? ;)

What's an AED machine?
Automated/Automatic External Defibrillator. They're freakin awesome. Saving lives all over the place. You'll find them in places like banks, gyms, day care facilities. Basically, if someone drops dead from a heart attack, you slap two pads on their bare chest, and press a button. A soothing voice says something like "Analyzing rhythm". There are only 2 heart rhythms that are shockable. If they're in one of those two rhythms, it'll advise a shock, which you administer w/ the press of the button again. It also advises you to do CPR if they aren't shockable. They're great. Helpful if an ambulance/fire truck is taking forever and a day.
I learned that I still can't make pancakes quite right.

I learnt a lot about diabetes treatments and when exenatide and glitazones should be used.
I also learnt that I need to know more about diabetes treatments as what I know is not enough.
I also learnt that internet supermarket shopping sometimes contain random bags that must be part of other peoples orders - today I received a kilo jar of pineapple chunks, some Bodyform pads, some Wilkinson Sword razor blades and some new potatoes.
Out of these I think I will only use the potatoes.

I learned how to make nut butter out of pecans using only a standard blender rather than a food processor.
I learned today that I am not one of those girls who can ride around gracefully in a skirt (slightly below the knee even!) on a bicycle without flashing people.
I learned how to properly mark a proprietary document (boring) and that no one can be trusted (no so good). Seriously, everyone I have ever loved has hurt me tons....what does that say??? Maybe one of you can teach me cuz i'm sure not learning.

i learned that when using a crappy corkscrew you can chip off a piece of the neck of a wine bottle, have it fly through the air and have it stab you in the lip! i made the pain go away by drinking half the bottle...
