Yay or Nay?

The thread in which we pose a question to get others to help us make a (hopefully not too important) decision.

My question: Should I spend 31 euros (about 44 USD) to see Belle & Sebastian, one of my favorite bands ever, but also a band I've already seen a couple times?

yay!  I sure would if it was my favourite band!

Yay!  If you have it the money and it won't be causing a financial burden then definitely!  It doesn't matter how many times you have seen your favorite band...it is never enough!

Hey, if you've got the dosh and it's your fave, I would. Seeing a band live is great. And if it's not going to make you end the month living on PB and J, what have you got to lose?

If you don't have anything else you have to spend the money on then go for it!

Thanks for the encouragement! I shouldn't be spending the money because I'm not making any money right now, but I have enough (with the boy paying for most stuff), so might as well have some fun. Annnd it turns out someone is selling tickets and accepting offers, so hopefully I can get a ticket for *only* 25 euros.
Now for my next question: bake some cake or exercise some willpower?
Apparently I'm the only one who can't make decisions on my own.

Could you bake a cake, have one slice and THEN exercise willpower? I'm pushing my luck, right? XD

bake a cake and give it away to a friendly neighbour or eat the whole thing yourself

Should I go get a coffee now because I'm super tired or wait until mid afternoon when I'll be bored?

Yay to both the concert and the cake! :)  You can always cut it into individual slices and store them in the freezer or save a slice and give the rest to a friend or neighbor.

ok, here's one:
I've just found a job advertised at the local council animal welfare centre
http://www.waitakere.govt.nz/cnlser/aw/index.asp

it's no more than 5 minutes from my house and I'm way qualified for the job.

downside: it will likely be a decent drop in pay from what I earn now, and we're trying really hard to save money at the mo.

flipside: I'll save most of the $75+ a week currently spent on petrol, and will have either the opportunity to work overtime or have more free time due to less time spent in traffic.

what do you reckon, vegweb, should I apply?

Yay to the concert ticket!

Yay to cake!

Yay to a job closer to home!

yay unless you have something you really need to be saving for that'll make you unhappy if you don't got it!

depends on how much less I guess.  If it's manageable then yes go for it!

And remember that you'll automatically be up $150 per fortnight just from the petrol.  I mean if the salary is half what you're on now then maybe not, but otherwise yeah go for it.

Even if you're not sure (not counting the money side), I'd say go for it....remember the interview is not just to see if you're right for the job but to see if the job is right for you!

Oh and balance the loss in money against how much you will value the extra free time you'll have just by not commuting.

Skip the concert make the cake have the coffee and apply for the job.

Anyone else?

It can't hurt to apply, oww.
If it's something you'd enjoy and you can survive on the pay, you should at least see what it's all about.
