On the subject of plastic bags

I just thought this was in interest little blurb about what Ikea is doing to reduce waste.

Ha, a week ago I bought a cloth bag from Kroger to save bags.  Then yesterday I went grocery shopping and forgot it.  Not much point if I forget it is there?  ???

It's so hard to remember!  Be sure to keep it in your car, someplace visible if you don't mind the "clutter"
I don't have a reusable bag but keep several plastic/paper shopping bags from previous purchases in my trunk, but I forget them every time and don't remember til I'm putting groceries in the trunk in brand new bags.
Maybe they should be kept on the dashboard, that way they fly into my face on the highway while driving  :o  Yeah bad idea.

Haha! After I bought reuseable bags from TJ's, I forgot them the subsequent shopping trip. So guess what I did in order to feel better about forgetting  I bought another one!
It's just hard to force yourself into the habit of putting it in the car, remembering to bring it in with you, then putting it immediately back in the car after you put the groceries away!

You'll get the hang of it!

i used to fill my empty reusable bags w/ cans and empties to return (thus making them no longer "empty" bags ) so i had to bring them into the store to recycle anyway.

and if you put your wallet or purse into one of the bags... you will soon learn to not forget them!  :)

Bookpapa and I always remember to take our cloth bags to Whole Foods but have a hard time remembering to take them anywhere else so we end up carrying a lot of stuff out of the store in our hands with the receipt conspicuously displayed.  :D So far no one, groceries or department stores, has denied us the right to do that. Of course, if we were a little less lazy, we could just go back out to the car and get a bag out of the trunk. That's where we keep them.  :P

i ride my bike everywhere so i can't forget. i just leave them in my room or in the kitchen and before i leave for the grocery store i bring 'em with me. the only time i have problems is when i make an unexpected stop. i can only get as much as will fit into the bag i am using that day!  ;D

My supermarket has started using the cloth bags, they fit sooo much in them too! It takes about 1/2 the amount of cloth bags vs plastic to pack up my cart-load.

I leave mine on my kitchen table (which annoys me) and then next time i head out to the car i pop them in the back.
