I have been getting to know a guy from my school and he asked about my vegansim (the normal questions everyone asks) and I was telling him how I think that people should be educated on what they eat and not just eat meat because everyone does. I pointed out that I don't rely on animals for any nutition at all and I'm perfectly healthy and I wished I had some site to send him to so that he could read an article about the benefits of veganism. I don't want anything too preachy (aka none of the PETA Meat Is Murder type videos, however, I'm sure something visual would be awesome) but if there are any suggestions I would love them :)
hey! i found a couple of sites for ya!
http://veganforlife.org/whatisvegan.htm
http://www.coolvegan.com/
http://www.veggiegirl.com/
teh last oen being a really good one!
thanks, i'll definately send him links to some of these :)
I'd actually recommend the book "The Omivore's Dilemma." The author is not vegan ... but it is VERY eye opening in terms of where most of our meat comes from and how it harms the environment, the animals, and our own health.

I agree with Beccalynn. The Vegan For Life site is pretty basic. Not too scary for omivores. Also, Vegweb is a good place to start. Try the article section of this site. I learned a lot there when I went vegan. You can pick and choose articles and print them for your friend.

I agree with healthymomma. The PCRM site is full of facts and studies and is not going to offend anyone. If you are not familiar with it yourself, I highly recommend that you check it out as well. It's a great resource for nutritional information and it will give you lots of answers to the questions omni's will ask you (or challenge you with sometimes) with regards to your vegan diet/lifestyle.
