Grandma's Homemade Applesauce

What you need:

5 pounds apples (Pink Lady are my favorite)
1 cup water (can add more for thinner sauce)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

What you do:

1) Slice and peel apples into 1 inch chunks.
2) In a large cooking pot, bring water to a boil.
3) Add the apples and cook for about 4 or 5 minutes, or until soft. Mix and mash for another 5 to 10 minutes or until the apples have reached a sauce consistency.
4) When thoroughly mashed, add the sugar and cinnamon and cook for another minute or two. Taste, add water if too dry and additional sugar or cinnamon as needed. Cool and serve.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I use organic cider or apple juice instead of water, and then there's no sugar needed!
