2 1+ inch cuts firm tofu
1+ tablespoon black pepper
olive oil to taste
1 cup mushrooms (can use white mushrooms or the darker ones)
1 clove garlic
guacamole or avocado slices
1-Place olive oil and black pepper into a flat pan and let warm.
2-Place two cuts of firm tofu into the warmed oil and pepper and brown both sides of tofu. Make sure pepper coats both sides. Usually takes about 3-5 minutes for me.
3-In a deeper pan warm up oil and garlic till garlic turns golden.
4-Put cup or more of mushrooms into deeper pan and mix mushrooms, garlic and oil till the mushrooms become soft (may need to add more oil for the mushrooms to soak up).
5-Toast burger bun if wish and place two cuts of cooked tofu on bun. Top with mushrooms, guacamole, and salsa.
*Can add any other veggies you wish like spinach, tomatoes, etc.
*Great with a side of flax seed chips for Trader Joes with more guacamole and salsa.
