Bouillon substitute?

I never buy bouillon cubes. I buy powdered stuff to make veggie broth (saves a ton of money because I'm not paying for 90% water in a can). Can I just use the powder? For one cup of veggie broth, you use 1 teaspoon of the powder. How much would be equivalent to one bouillon cube?
