The hummus freak strikes again!

OK...I know...my love for all things hummus is incurable. Last Monday I finally found dry split peas and used 2 cups to make soup. Had about 3/4 cup left over, so me being me I cooked them up and made hummus!
Actually it's quite OK. The texture's a little bit grainy, but the peas were awfully hard. I boiled them for almost an hour on the stove and then put them in the pressure cooker for over an hour. They have "gandules" in cans in the same shop and I'm tempted to try them. Flavourwise...pretty good!
I do love hummus on nearly everything and eat it at least every other day! I might try this! It also gave me the idea for lentils, maybe? Also, I've used peanut butter when out of tahini. It was wonderful!
I love me some hummus. My favorite was lentil humms with walnut butter instead of tahini. I also added sundried tomatoes to it. My jars of tahini do not last long these days. :)>>>

Lentil hummus is one of my favourites!! Try this one: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=24154.0
I've also used blackeyed peas or black beans. The only alternative hummus that leaves me cold is canellini. I dunno, it's just really bland.
Day 3: the split-pea hummus definitely needs more seasoning than the regular kind. I thought it would absorb the flavours better than it has, but as I say, the dry beans I bought were VERY hard. Maybe US peas are more amenable.
