Least sweet milk?

I find most vegan milks (soy, almond, rice, oat etc.) quite sweet, and usually that isn't an issue because I generally only have milk in my coffee or with cereal. However, I was making a bechamel sauce last weekend with the least sweet milk I know (ricedream), and it came out okay, but still sweeter than I would prefer.
What kind or brand of milk do you usually use for savory dishes? I live in the Netherlands, so I probably won't have access to all the brands available in the US, but any ideas and tips are most welcome!

I like unsweetened soymillk - I use Silk brand, but I'm not sure about the availability outside the US.

You could try making your own.  I've made almond milk, and it's pretty easy.  Bear in mind that homemade "milks" will not be fortified, so you might consider vitamin supplements.

i make oat and almond milk with tahini and a little oil . it works quite well.. a recipe i found here.
Otherwise maybe its better to use soft tofu and just add it to a blender with water. This way it wont be sweet. Most milks i found in europe are sweet. Even if they are without sugar.. i have no idea why.. or they have vanilla flavour added.

Which brands do you have in the netherlands? I imagine they might some of the similar ones we have here in Switzerland. I do agree that ricedream is probably the least sweet...it's the one I use all the time for cooking and cereal. I just bought "The Bridge" brand...I'll test it and let you know if it seems sweet or not.

I think almond and soy milk are out, both are fairly sweet.

Just use one that says Unsweetened. I hate sweetened nondairy milks too!

Unsweetened Hemp Milk, the most expensive, is the one I like to use in dishes because it seems not too sweet and seems closest to real milk.  I always use unsweetened milks.

If you can't find an unsweetened brand (I like unsweetened almond milk) for cooking, blend some soaked cashews or almonds and water together and then strain out the solids.

WestSoy Organic Soy Milk (unsweetened) is my favorite for cooking. Of course it's organic and non-GMO.

Thanks for all the tips everyone!
Most of the ones I've tried are unsweetened, but still taste sweet, and the cartons say things along the lines of 'no added sugars, but may taste sweet due to the natural sugars present in rice'.

KLtkimmle, I used Ricedream for this sauce, and even that turned out a little sweeter than I would have wanted. The other widely available brands are Alpro Soya, Provamel (same company as Alpro I think) and Vitariz. I've also seen some German brands in healthfood stores, but don't remember the names. Someone on a Dutch veggie board recommended plain Provamel, so will be trying that next.

If that fails, I will definitely try making my own as some suggested. Thanks!

We have provamel here, it's ok, not to sweet. Try the plan kind. I used "the bridge" rice milk today in cooking but I haven't had it in cereal yet, so I'm not sure of the taste. I'll try it tomorrow.
Here in Switzerland we have Rice Dream, Provamel, The Bridge and a bunch of random German brands. I usually buy rice dream or the local grocery's store's brand. Do you know if you have sojasun? It's a pretty big brand, but pretty sweet.

I don't know if you've seen "Oatly" brand or maybe it's Oatley, but it's supposedly not vegan at all  >:(
