mac n chreeze

Hey everyone! Has anyone ever tried the mac n chreese cheddar flavor or the 123'z chreese 4 kids by east end's road organics?  WHole foods sells it and I just bought the mac n chreese with the cheddar flavor and the wheat semolina noodles.  I really wanted to try the 123'z chreese since it has the white semolina noodles and since I want to mock the mac n cheese from the traditional mac and cheese dish, but I wasn't sure if it contained a cheddar flavor or a different flavor.  Moreover, the noodles are made of numbers and are not macaroni noodles, so I thought the noodles would be really small.  So I went with the whole wheat noodles and the cheddar flavor.  Is this type any good and does it resemble the kraft mac n cheese version even though the noodles are not white semolina, or should have I gone with the 123'z and chreese?  Also, are there any suggestions to cooking mac n cheese?  I think I will use soy milk but i have no soy butter.  Are there any other vegan margarines other than Earth Balance?  I don't like Earth Balance.  Any advice or opinions on this mac n cheese dish from east end's road organics will be extremely helpful!

Hi there.

Check out pretty_n_punk's post because some folks commented on it, gave it good reviews.

Also, the Smart Balance light is vegan if you don't like Earth Balance. I've bought it at the mainstream grocery stores ... Vons, Ralph's.

Hope that helps.

That's "prettyin_punk"'s (I spelled her name wrong before) link for "Roads End Nacho Chreese," which also includes mention of mac n chreese.

It's ok, I'm not a huge fan of any of those fake cheese's. It you are giving it to a child they will probably like it. If I remember right, it doesn't have a strong flavor and it dosen't come out orange so I mixed in some fyh chedder. That seemed to help. No it doesn't taste like kraft, sorry

Yeah, unfortunately I have to give that stuff a bad review... I used to nanny for a little boy who was allergic to dairy & gluten, so his parents bought that mac & cheese mix all the time! He loved it, but he'd never had anything else... I, who am definitely familiar with good ol' Kraft, could not stand it! But that doesn't mean you won't like it! Try it out & if you don't enjoy it, just don't buy it again! ;)

on the vegan butter note:  I like soy garden brand, i think it tastes and melts just like regular butter, although maybe a little less salty tasting.  I think it might be made by the same company that makes earth balance.
