Susan from www.fatfreevegan.com posted on her blog today about making homemade Greek-style soy yogurt. You have to check this out. It looks and sounds divine!! Here's a link to her site:

Here's her initial post back in January regarding making homemade soy yogurt:

my mother and I think my grandmother too who are greek would love to eat it with a a little bit of sugar sprinkled on top. I remember trying it that way when I was little. It was pretty good. I don't know if it was a greek thing or it was just a family thing.
If anyone makes this, I'd love to know how it turns out. Jenniferhughes, I know that you have a recipe that was posted today that's really similar to this. Is it luscious and super creamy? I'm curious as to the texture. The pictures Susan posted look AMAZING! Boy, that woman can take some pictures! I've never tried yet to make homemade soy yogurt, but I'm becoming more interested. I'm not big on most of the soy yogurts (Silk & Wholesoy). I know a lot of people like the Wildwood, but I can't get it locally. I also prefer a plain yogurt that I can then jazz up however I see fit at the moment, rather than making the flavored yogurts. I'm wondering how it would affect the flavor of the final product if I had to use the Wholesoy plain (not really) for the yogurt starter. Do you think the whole batch would wind up tasting like the Wholesoy, rather than a plainer flavor?
I have some soy yogurt that has been sitting in my fridge for quite awhile because I don't like it plain... I bought it for baking, but just haven't made any recipes lately that call for it. I am making this right now! :) I will report back!
Oh my gosh, THANK YOU willwolf.
You are just a source of all sorts of wonderful things this week! :)
Awww thanks, mdvegan! Yeah, I guess I've been posting a little more lately here on the forum. It's funny that I've been on this site for years and years, but haven't gotten into the Q & A forum until recently. I'm just happy to share items of interest with y'all!
JessaCita, I'm really curious as to how your experiment using the storebought yogurt works, too. I'll be waiting for your report.
Yes, I will definitely be back to share my results! I have a yogurt-maker (that I used to make homemade dairy yogurt with), but I am too lazy to experiment with homemade soy yogurt right now! Another time, though. :)
