Re: Halloween Party fare

I'm planning a Halloween Party and am wondering if anyone has any good recipes for "freaky" food-like the old peeled grape eyeballs, cold pasta=hair, etc. So far I'm thinking beet cake (bright red) and making deep-fried eyeballs (falafal decorated w/olives for the iris/pupil).  All the halloween recipes I find are meet based (yes, much scarier), but does anyone have great veg thoughts? Green (Spinach) Pasta maybe...

zombie cupcakes from this site!

I'm going to make those almond-finger cookies. I was thinking of adding a tad of blue food coloring to them to give them a more "dead" look  :D

The latest issue of Vegetarian Times had "finger sandwiches."  They are whole wheat hot dog buns filled with a lentil type filling (and decorated with mayo for the knuckles, etc.)

I made them a couple of weeks ago and they were scrumptious.  I highly recommend that recipe if you can track it down.  It also makes A LOT of sandwiches so it is probably a great party food.
