I'm planning a Halloween Party and am wondering if anyone has any good recipes for "freaky" food-like the old peeled grape eyeballs, cold pasta=hair, etc. So far I'm thinking beet cake (bright red) and making deep-fried eyeballs (falafal decorated w/olives for the iris/pupil). All the halloween recipes I find are meet based (yes, much scarier), but does anyone have great veg thoughts? Green (Spinach) Pasta maybe...
bloody zombie finger cookies!
there was a thread a while back with this link:

and I think someone here successfully made them, but I can't remember who...
The latest issue of vegetarian times had some ideas. I am sure you get check there website, when I get home I can page through it again and see if there is anything worth making.
zombie cupcakes from this site!
I'm going to make those almond-finger cookies. I was thinking of adding a tad of blue food coloring to them to give them a more "dead" look :D
I'm having a halloween partay - I'm definitely making sugar cookies - with halloween cookie cutters!
The latest issue of Vegetarian Times had "finger sandwiches." They are whole wheat hot dog buns filled with a lentil type filling (and decorated with mayo for the knuckles, etc.)
I made them a couple of weeks ago and they were scrumptious. I highly recommend that recipe if you can track it down. It also makes A LOT of sandwiches so it is probably a great party food.
Check out Martha Stewart... her assistants have lots of great ideas!!
