Sides to go with squash/apple soup

So I'm making dinner for a couple friends tomorrow and I'm planning on serving squash/apple soup, which would be a meal on its own for me, but I figure I should serve something with it when I have company so they don't go home hungry!  Any ideas for good (quick) sides?  I was thinking maybe a warm bean salad and bread...

I was thinking of something with wild rice, maybe steamed veggies over wild rice with garlic and lemon.

I love dinner parties YES! have fun!

I would serve a pretty salad and some yummy bread to go with it. Also, a nice dessert if you have time.
Sounds like a yummy soup! :)

those are the exact suggestions I would give. some hearty bread - maybe EB to spread on it?

oo bean salad that sounds good too. Or how about a pasta salad or even how about a soup and sandwich/hero meal.

Or a nice brown-rice pilaf type thing. You've got my brain going....brown rice with dried mushrooms and oyster mushrooms and a touch of garlic...oh this could get delicious!

Oooooh.  Thanks all.  I'm not very good at the whole making a  dinner party menu thing 'cause I generally eat whatever dishes take my fancy with no concern over whether they go together!  Maybe I'm learning a little though.  :D

Methinks it'll be hearty bread and salad tonight to go with the soup since I don't have time to throw together a brown/wild rice pilaf... oooh, with cranberries!  *drools*  I guess I know what I'm cooking later this week though.  Oh, and I made Cape Breton oatcakes last night so desert is covered!
