where to find nutritional yeast
there are no heath food stores around me :'( . so i don't know where to find nutritional yeast. i've tried looking but i'm one of those people who likes to get in and out of the store in record time so i get kinda impatient when looking for things i've never bought before. i've tried asking people but a lot of them don't know what it is so they can't help me. i'm guessing it would be in the health food section. i have a ukrops, farm fresh, fresh market, and food lion near me. has anyone ever bought any there? there's also a trader joes an hour away that i go to sometimes when i'm in the area but i don't really want to drive up there. and i hate ordering online lol. oh, and where do i find textured soy protein, i haven't found that either. thanks

I'm not familiar with any of the supermarkets you listed, but if you're thinking of going to Trader Joe's in hopes of finding nutritional yeast and textured soy protein there...don't. I am not 100% sure that they are not sold at any Trader Joe's stores, but I have gone to 4 different ones (in NJ and NY) and have never seen either of those things there.
So I guess your best bet is online...or double-check for a health food stores. I have noticed that there are some that are really small and might not advertise themselves too well outside their immediate area. Worth a try..
i agree. TJs does not have that stuff.
and HR do you know where that stuff ships from? if it isn't too far (i want to be eco-friendly) maybe i will get spices and other various things that i have been wanting but not had the time to look for.
They are located in Toledo, Ohio. I sent an email inquiring about possible allergen cross-contamination and they said they package and distribute directly from their plant. Because they process allergens (milk, egg, and nuts in my case) all in the same area, they can't guarantee that their products are allergen free. So, unfortunately, I won't be able to take advantage of their bulk pricing and free shipping :(
This would probably be a good topic for the FAQ, if someone is more qualified than I to talk about nutritional yeast.
