I'm so sold on Morningstar Riblets!!!!

Dudes, I picked up a box of Morningstar Riblets because I'd never seen them before but had heard good things.

THEY ARE AWESOME.

I totally forgot to call MDVegan back after dinner because I was so in love with the riblets I'd eaten. I used to love ribs back in the day, and I hadn't had them in two years.... so I was excited but skeptical.... how could these frozen thingies live up to what I remembered?

SOOOOOO GOOD! The sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy... and the texture is really good, too! Very melt-in-your-mouth.

I want more, but there are only two per box! This is my new "special fancy dinner" staple. Screw my botched stuffed mushrooms... these babies are PERFECT!

I just thought I'd share. Is there anyone else in the world as insanely excited about these as I am? Josh liked them, but he didn't go gaga like I did.

I haven't tried these, but since the Gardenburger ones seem to have vanished, I'll check them out. I hope they're just as good as the gardenburgers. You seem to think that they're great, so I'm sure they are.

BETTER than the Garden Burger.... way better! These aren't even in the same league, but that's my opinion. I always thought the Garden Burgers were just "okay."

The riblets are a tad expensive, but I'm going to eat them for every special occasion I can find/make up!

I prefer to make my own with Fatfree Vegan's recipe for Ribz.  And since I have not seen a Gardenburger Riblet in ages nor spotted the new MSF's version I figure its all I get.

I love the GardenBurger Riblets!  They single handedly convinced the hubs that going vegan wouldn't be so hard.....
...but recently, they are MIA.  Sometimes Wal-Mart has them, but only sometimes.....

I like the MorningStar Crumbles, but most of their delicious looking stuff has eggs or milk in them.  I've given up even reading the labels of their stuff...its always disappointing.

HA-HA! The Morningstar Riblets are VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGAN!

Oh yes... you know you want to try them now.

^-^

PS Cali some of us (pretty much just me, really) can't cook anything more complicated than beans & rice without messing it up so we have to stick with the pre-made fancy stuff. But feel free to come visit and cook ribz for me. I'm sure having a vegan-style southern barbecue would be tons of fun!

I too love the Riblets!  Quick, easy, tasty, packed with protein.  Add some brown rice and a salad and I am one happy man!

Jeanacorina, I wish you could come to my house and I could teach you all I know about cooking.  Seriously.  Plan a trip to MDV, and you both can come visit.

Seriously, the recipe is way easy and you can ignore that whole grill outside business and just put it back in the oven after flipping for another 10-15 minutes.

Hell, can i come for a *Cali cooking class??*.  :P

I guess Garden Burger filed for abnkruptcy a bit ago.
And i thought the morningstar ribz tasted basically the same, personally.

I thought that Morningstar bought Gardenburger after it went into bankruptcy.

Maybe that explains the sudden appearance of delicious riblets??

i read that theyre owned by the same parent company and that the boxes list identical stats & ingredient lists for both products so maybe theyre just being repackaged.  either way - yum!

yeah, it's weird that it's a company competing with itself  :o kind of like everything Hain Celestial owns. I'll have to check out the ingredients/nutrition facts some time and see...

Ok, you convinced me and I bought a box today.  So, I would like to microwave them.  Is that going to do them injustice?  Is baking necessary?

Hmm, I don't even own a microwave, so I don't know if they'll turn out the same or not. I guess you could try it, but I'd suggest baking if you're able.

I've ONLY microwaved mine. I do recommend cooking them for less time than stated (i think it says 345, i did mine for 3)

So I microwaved them for 3 minutes.  They were good...maybe my expectations were too high...  I liked them though.  ;)

I read an article a while back that said that morningstar used caged hens for their products...
I wonder if that's changed? (of course, not using eggs is awesomer)

Itd be really awesome to indulge in these delights.

the riblets themselves are vegan, but i understand if youre a person not wanting to support a company that uses caged hens at all.
