Fruit and Seed Energy Bars

What you need:

1 8 oz. package dried mixed fruit
2 oz. dried dates
1 cup oats
1 teaspoon wheat bran
1 tablespoon wheat germ
1/2 cup pre-made granola (optional)
raw sunflower seeds
raw sesame seeds
raw pumpkin seeds
chopped raw almonds
agave nectar
flax seed paste (mix 2 tablespoon *Milled* flax seed with 6 tablespoon water and let sit a few minutes)
whole wheat pastry flour
soy milk

What you do:

Puree mixed fruits and dates in food processor until gooey but still a little chunky. Add a couple tablespoons of water if necessary.
Pour fruit into a big bowl. Add next 4 ingredients. Add seeds, almonds, and agave nectar to taste. Mix.
Mix in flax goo. Add flour any soy milk a little at a time until you have a very thick, chunky batter that will stick together.
Scoop batter into an oiled cookie sheet and spread it around so it is about 1/2 inch thick all over. Drizzle with more agave nectar.
Bake at 350 degrees (F) for about 30 min or until lightly browned on top. Cool and slice into bars.
For a variation, try substituting dried cherries for the other fruits and adding vegan chocolate chips.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

These sound great, but I have a question.  How do you know if your flax seeds are "milled."  I have a whole storage container of them but I threw away the bag they came in ages ago.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I believe that they mean ground flax seed.

This sounds really yummy, and I think I could actually pull it off... although, I'm allergic to soy. Might try rice milk instead, or almond milk.  ;D
