vegan brownies and my gallery opening!

i made the vegan brownies from the ppk website for my gallery opening.... not only were they friggin' DELICIOUS!!! but i sold 3 pieces of art too!
so try the brownies, they're so good. i made ginger mocha, and hazelnut, drizzled with orange ganache and topped with chopped ginger and hazelnuts... mmmmm
and i'm a "professional" artist now!

Congratulations on selling your art! Viability in the arts is very important to us and, frankly selling thee pieces at the opening is something to be proud of.

ok, so i just had some of the leftover brownies after sitting in the fridge over night and these brownies are seriously the best i've ever tasted... isa chandra is a genius.
i do some printmaking and acrylic painting, but the series that i've been working on that did so well at the show are a combination of printmaking, egg tempera and gold leaf on japanese paper... very labour intensive (but i guess it's starting to pay off).
my only issue now is using eggs in my paint... i started learning the technique (which is really old and what most medieval manuscripts use) before i became vegan, and i still have a huge container of the egg base to mix with pigment, so i haven't had to worry about buying eggs, and probably won't for a while, but i still feel wierd about sacrificing eggs for art. i guess i need to start looking a replacement material.
Hi, that is so exciting about you selling some paintings. I am going to school for art. I can not wait until I sell some stuff one day (and pay off student loans...grrrrrr)! Does the gallery or do you have a websight where we can look at some of your work? I would luv 2 see some of it!

i don't right now :-\... i'm very technologically retarded. however, the gallery i showed at wants to represent me now, so i think i'll have a site with them soon, and i'm looking into one of my friends putting up my own site.
That's brilliant news - congrats on the art sales - as for the brownies, was there ever any doubt that they wouldn't go down well? Seriously, well done.
