Birdie names (Budgies)...NVR

Well when Pogo and Zeke died a few months ago, I was devastated.  One day I was sad and went and bought three budgie babies to keep Yellow Bird happy.

I have yet to name them.

I have a tiny blue budgie.  Runt?

One that looks like him but bigger.

Then a pale green as in mint and pale yellow budgie.  They are all males and I have yet to name them.

They are all beautiful and they should have names.  With all the crap and renovations being done in my place, names haven't seemed important.

Now they do.

I was thinking Baby Bird, Blue Bird and Limon (term used in the BVI's when relaxing...I loved the BVI's and did much Limon).  But I am so open to suggestions.

So please give suggestions so I don't have to think!  ;D

I love them all dearly but just haven't named them.  Yellow Bird was diagnosed with a fatty liver tumour about two years ago but he is so happy with the baby birds.  They are probably about 5 or six months old and Yellow Bird is doing great.

I really must name them so they know they are very special to my heart.

Veggie themed names would be wonderful.  Remember their colours.

Thanks so much and after all the suggestions, I will post their official names.

I also love multiple names so don't think basic.  They can all have first and middle names.

Thanking you all  in advance!  If you give an unusual name, please explain why.

Example:  Native American...why the name and what it means.  My little bambino's need names and soon.  They are all males.

Di and the 10 furred and feathered

For the green one: Mint, Parsley or Chervil
For the little one: Button
For the larger blue: Benny (in honour of my first budgie who was also blue) or perhaps Lind-bird?
Avoid me, I'm tired... ;D

How about Sweet Pea for the green one and Blueberry for one of the blue ones.  Or you could call the big blue bird Papa Smurf and the little one Baby Smurf.

I did a cross stitch awhile ago using different words for love.  How about naming them all love in a different language..  I'd have to look them up, but from memory..

Lieve (lee faa) Dutch (this was actually one of my 'girl' names when I was preggers)
Mahal Tagalog
Amore Spanish/Italian
Amor Portuguese

(I can't believe that's all I can remember... I know I have Hebrew and Arabic and some of the Scandinavian countries also, Swahili, German...)

I like Basil and (blue)Berry and can we think of another (blue) fruit or veggie that starts with a "b"? BokChoy, brussels, beans...

We have Tango, Angel, Clamper, Plummage and Jeffrey.  Meg named him Jeffrey I don't know why.  I was given a 16-day-old baby budgie to hand feed out.  It is a noisy, whining, fussy baby and I named him Fussbutt.

I have had:
Doodlebug
Snigglefitz
Cloud
Cloudy Skies (Cloud's baby)
Chunky Munkey
Blueberry
Precious
Kiwi
Steiner
Kitten (yeah, weird name for a bird)
Sklyar
Studley (he could name all my 6 hens in an hour, take a rest and repeat the feat)
Violetta who was a purple Finnish pied
Beauregarde
Pansy

I often have to name them before I can sex them.  They don't cere out for months, most of them and I'd hate to call a girl Herman.  Cloud was thought to be a boy for a year and suddenly she cered out a cream tan, definitely henny and had 8  babies for me.

Budgies are my thang, totally!  I LOVE THOSE LITTLE GUYS!!!!

Words for love (I think I have them all correct):

gra - Gaelic
liebe - German
amore - French
cinta - Maylay
ai - Japanese
ahava - Hebrew
amour - Italian
amor - Portuguese
houb - Arabic
liefde - Dutch
mahal - Tagalog
These are Scandanavian but I can't remember which belongs with which country:
karlek
rakastaa
kaerlighed
elsker
Two of these are African and one is 'Inca' but I can't remember which is which:
konda
munay
penda

Gra and Ai would be nice short names..

K2, you've switched a couple. "Amor" is Spanish and Portuguese, "Amour" is French (diff pronunciation) and "Amore" is Italian.

"Cariad" is Welsh meaning "love" and also "Darling" when used to a person.

Started calling Fussbutt "Butsy" which really fits.  Butsy has been refusing his formula a bit in the last couple of days.  I put him in a cage and gave him budgie feed and water, a millet spray (usually a huge treat for any budgie).  He didn't touch the spray at all.  He was fussing that he wanted to eat, but I really did know better.  He watched the grownups eating from their bowl and went down to his, spending a long time opening every oat groat in the dish and ignoring all the millet.  I have fed him 3 times today as insurance, he is pretty well weaned, he just prefers the frequent attention.

Butsy the butthead budgie!  CUTE, but fussy.

Thanks for all the birdie names!  Now you have all made it harder because I love so many of them.  Thanks for the research, the googling and the names of birdies you have loved.

You guys are the best!
