Veggie Pride Parade

So NYC is having a Veggie Pride thing on May 17.
I've never went to one but it sounds really exciting!

Last year was the first one! I know some people who went to it and it sounded pretty cool.  It's the day after my graduation so I don't know if I'll get there this year.

I'm glad to hear someone saw it!  I actually am moving to NYC around that time.  I was planning for the 16, so I might just have to stick with that so that I can check it out!

The part that sucks is that I will be pinching my penny's so I won't be able to indulge in everything.

Hey there!

I went to this last year...it wasn't as big as I thought it would be BUT it was the first year, so I suspect it should be bigger this year.  They gave a lot of free samples or magazines, some canvas bags and snacks above this you get to represent your veg*n peps...if you're going to be in the NYC during this time, def participate, the extra support is always appreciated :)

I might be going to this after all!! My sister is going to NYC after my graduation tomorrow and I said I wanted to go too because of the veggie pride parade so she said I should come and she has a free hotel room I can stay in with her! I hope this works out!  :>

I went.  Got myself a free piece of cake!  haha.  But there wasn't as much stuff as I would have liked... just lots of campaigning and books...
maybe I was too early though and the fun didn't quite start yet...

anyone else go?

I went!! I had a good time and it was nice to see so many other veg ppl!! I hung around Union Square for a bit grabbing some of the free info so i could give it to people who are always asking me to help them to transition to veg eating!!!

I did expect a little more as far as vendors ... but hey, it's only the 2nd year ... it's catch on!

And btw, i got a piece of the brown rice cake with choco frosting ... mmm it was good ... and of course the vegan pizza  ..... lmfao oh, and I grabbed a raw food sports bar and coconut water! BUT i did buy a cookbook as well! :)

My girlfriend came with who has recently been trying to eat ovo-lacto vegetarian and after some of the info she recieved ... umm ... it's looking like we have a new vegan in the veg pool!

Vegans for the win! lmao

no, i didn't dress up... not enough time with everything else to get something good planned!

The move is awesome!! Loving it so far!  There's so many places with vegan options and almost every grocery store has vegan items!  One place on the corner actually has sweet and sarah's marshmallows!! which I thought was awesome!!

Now... to find a job. haha!

Ohh .... Welcome!! ...

Yeah, It's never hard to get a good dish here EVEN at non-veg restaurants ... and shopping is always a breeze .... i live by the worlds worst Key Foods (grocery store) and i can still buy pretty much everything ... ............. try shopping in the Asian markets ... they speak NOT A WORD of english but they make fresh tofu daily and sell it on the street ..... ugh .... it's good and like $1 for 2 HUGE pieces!! 3 to 4 times the size of the blocks you buy in the grocery store and you get one of those med. sized plastic containers of silken tofu for like 90 cents !! :) lol. .. sorry i get very excited about that! ahhaha

Yes, I've definitely seen how awesome the grocery shopping experience is here!  Freaking Vegan Marshmallows at the corner store, when normally you have to mail-order them!

I am having such an awesome time!  I just need a job asap!  My friend is helping me, but I can't believe all the trouble I'm having finding one (ok, I know what the trouble is, and it makes sense... I wanted to do something that involved my degree, or a book place... and none of those seem to be hiring or I'm not qualified... sucks for me!!)
