Any Other Single Vegans Here?

I'll tell ya....

Life can be hard, when you're a vegan, and single....

Personally, I could share my life with someone who ate animal products. And there's so few of us out there. I can count on one hand the women I've dated in the last 10-15 years....

Any other single vegans out there? Share your stories!!!

I can definitely call myself single now! haha.
I would prefer a vegan hands down, but honesty and kindness is really the major points.
I am so proud of love and would like that reciprocated.  I can count the men I dated on one hand too. lol.

I'm at a point in my life now that I want to get my life together better, so I'm not really looking for anything.

But yes, life can be a slap in the face, when you least expect it.

Here and accounted for.

Me.. And it's getting to the point of nonsense. I made the mistake a couple months ago of setting up an online dating profile, and it seemed like I was power dating, which was kind of fun, but it was defiantly not worth it, because I didn't really find anything that I was looking for (i.e. semi-committed relationship). I have no idea what to do next. But I would really like to get out of this dry spell, because it sucks going to every movie by myself (sometimes-ok, but not every time.)

A absolutely don't think be a vegan, or a vegetarian is necessary for me, anyway. It would be nice, but not necessary.

Present and accounted for. I recently moved to a more conservative area... so lack of my liberal guys is causing a further single time frame. The one thing I do hate is first dates. They always want to take you out to dinner and ordering as a vegan isn't exactly the most low maintenance thing.  :-\ But it's very much customary for girls to order salads, at least I can get away with that!

I am a a single Vegan. I have never found a Vegan man to date, only Carnies. Ick.  I know I run an odd line because I don't fit the box. I am not a" hippie," but my beliefs are similar on a lot of issues. Yet I am a businesswoman and dress as such. I hang around with people from all walks of life. People say I don't "look" like I'd be Vegan, whatever that means... even though I've been one for 20+ years!  I really do NOT want to date a Carnie. It does end up getting in the way because I certainly don't want to kiss on a mouth that has just had rotten flesh rolling around in it. EWW  :-[  I could barf right now just thinking about it.  :o  Most guys have been pretty cool about being "veg" on the days we go out or whatever, because, obviously it positively affected their sex life to do so. I really cannot control my guttural, instinctual reaction to meat eating and animal killing. It's not even a conscious choice for me. It's just sick and wrong and I cannot reconcile being"in love" with someone who is fantastic in every way EXCEPT they eat animals even when they know how they are treated. Sorry, but it feels like dating a murderer, which, ya know, it IS.  :-[
So Yeah, it's complicated and I really just want to find a rad Vegan guy to date!  :-*

Another one here as well.  :)

I would love to find a veggie guy but seeing that I'm down in Texas now I don't think it'll happen.  ::)

I found my best, most compatible guy thus far when I stopped using veganism as a criteria for a mate and thinking of meat eaters as terrible people (I never thought they were terrible, but I did have to open my mind somewhat).  Life is too short to go around thinking that meat eaters are gross and evil, and you're not scoring any karma points by excluding them from your dating pool.  A mate doesn't have to be exactly like you.  Really, I can't bare the thought of having excluded my current boy from my life by virtue of the fact that he eats meat.  Not worth it!  But I'm also not generally attracted to vegan "types."  I'm much more inclined to be friends with them, not lovers.

If I did have "vegan"  at the top of my list, I'd move to a vegan area ASAP.  I can't stand waiting around for Prince Charming.  It's too bad things aren't more mixed up.  But maybe it's good that you are guaranteed to find vegan boys all together in one place?  Haha

KMK, sometimes you post stuff and I'm like.. she just took the words right out of my mouth! I'm totally with you on this one. If anything, I think it is really counterproductive to limit ourselves to interacting only with those who have views that are similar to our own. This goes beyond veganism.. I find that often my relationships with individuals who represent cultures, traditions, and creeds radically different from my own to be the most rewarding. I learn a great deal from them, and I hope they have the opportunity to learn from me as well. If we limit ourselves to only associating with other vegans and vegetarians, how can we expect to ever bring practices based on compassion and sustainability to a societal level? As difficult as it is sometimes, I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give to the world is to approach life with open minds and open hearts.

haha, i just got out of a relationship with a carni...totally...we're talking hated lettuce, the sight of a salad, would not eat a dish if it had vegan substitutes in it...just, i wasn't happy.  in fact, it started being the source of many arguments....ie, grocery bill, dining out restaraunt options, etc, and after a while, i just got tired of it (though dietary choices wasn't the sole source of the breakup).

and even though i seek to date a veg; if i date someone who isn't it isnt the end of the world; but i question how long the relationship will last.

dating omnis have never worked out for me personally. Too many differences in life styles, eating habits, and beliefs.

I personally would rather find a vegan mate or at the very least a strict vegetarian.

Being single is awesome. You can fuck whomever you want to. You don't have some bitch nagging at you or asking where you've been. And, my favorite, you don't have to compromise what you want for someone else. Been single for 5 years and love every second of it.

And who knows you might meet someone who had no idea how sad it is to eat meat and unhealthy too so you can educate and convert and shine your light. You ladies are very sweet and wise, nice to meet you all :)
