The Best Hummus Ever Made
What you need:
1 can organic garbanzo beans
1 shallot clove
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup Olive oil
2 tablespoons flax seed oil
1 1/2 limes
splash of soy sauce
1 tablespoon Kosher salt
2 tablespoons cumin
1 shake of wasabi powder
a couple shakes of ginger powder
pepper to taste
What you do:
Blend together the shallots and garlic until well chopped. Blend the rest of the ingredients together until everything is smooth and light.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
This was good but not the best hummus I ever made. The ingredient list appealed to me, having soy sauce and wasabi powder in it. I've been toying with the idea of an Asian-based hummus myself. Unfortunately these flavors were masked by too much cumin and I didn't even use the full amount. The recipe calls for 2 Tablespoons and that just sounded like too much to me so I cut it in half and it was still the dominant flavor along with the lime. I love the limeyness but I really wanted to taste that wasabi and I didn't so I added a little more and then a little more. The powder wasn't working so I added some wasabi paste. Perhaps my powder was old??
After all was said and done, I threw it back in the blender and added some tahini. I know there is no written rule that hummus must have tahini, but I like it that way.
