Soup for Trying to Get Over a Cold

What you need:

veggie broth (or water + veggie bouillon)
two handfuls of rice (approximately 1/2 to 2/3 cup)
1/4 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup frozen green beans
1/4-1/2 cup instant potato flakes
spices
2 heaping spoonfuls spicy salsa
opt. handful of textured soy protein

What you do:

I remember when I was younger my Pa made me really spicy food when I was coming down with a cold. Being a poor college student with lack of options, I came up with this soup. You can alter it according to what you have on hand. This is what I had (most were just leftovers).
Bring broth to boil. Add rice and cook for 15 minutes. Once rice is near done, throw in the textured soy protein. Add the corn and green beans, along with spices, salsa, and potato flakes. Bring back to simmer. Enjoy.
