Summer Oats

What you need:

2 tablespoons porridge oats (dry, uncooked; a.k.a. steel-cut oats, Irish oats, pinhead oats, coarse-cut oats)
1 apple, grated (Pink Lady and Braeburn are good)
2 tablespoons non-dairy yogurt (I prefer a plain unsweetened one)
2 tablespoons fresh fruit, diced (blueberry and raspberry are nice and colorful; banana adds sweetness)
handful seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, pine-nuts, etc.)
handful slivered almonds

What you do:

1. Place oats in breakfast bowl and combine with apple, non-dairy yogurt, fruit, and seeds.
2. Scatter the almonds over the mix and eat.
Source of recipe: This is a summery porridge concoction inspired by a newspaper supplement. It's tasty, light and full of good stuff!
