Veg baseball player

I just thought this was cool. http://hsus.typepad.com/wayne/2009/07/prince-fielder.html  I've never read Skinny Bitch, but it sure has converted a lot of people.

Yeah that is cool. I am a vegan that works with tough meat eating lumberjacks in the forests of Canada. I have been doing this for twenty years and although I am much older than them they still have a hard time keeping up with me  ^-^. I think I remember reading that there was a guy who won the Hawaiin triathalon six times who was a vegan or at least a vegetarian. Here it is

"During the period in which he won all six of his Hawaiian triathlons Dave Scott followed a strict vegetarian (vegan) diet. However, since 1992 he is no longer strictly vegetarian."

I wonder why?

Baseball manager Tony LaRussa is vegetarian as well -- he is the manager of my Cardinals. He also does a lot for animal welfare in the St. Louis area.

I also like Prince Fielder, even though he plays for the rival Brewers. Have you seen a pic of him? Looks like he likes the fried tofu!

Cards, huh?  Even though I live in Missouri, I'm a Cubs fan  :P

Are you part of the LSU alum organization in St. Louis?  I know some of the members!

No, I'm not part of them, but I'm a proud LSU alum. And I too love college football. I'm going to the Arch Rivalry.

I'm actually planning on having vegan college football get togethers at my place this fall.

Boo Cubs!

Oops, gotta run for a bit. Class about to start :)

I wanted to go to the Mizzou/Illinois game too, but PSU has an early start that day and I'd never miss a second of that action!  Vegan gamewatches would be awesome!

I'm not a big Cubs fan, but I do root for them.  Football is my main sport -- baseball just keeps me occupied in the summer.  Are you a Wash U student?  I work for SLU but my husband is a grad student at Wash U.

Sorry -- stuff got hectic. Really hectic.

I'm not a student. I'm a teacher actually. It's really cool to meet you... sort of. I might join up this site and send you a message or something if that is cool.
