I'd like to try making General Tao's Tofu but have no experience frying/cooking with tofu - any one have any suggestions? Thanks!

I can't find any egg replacer where I live so I just bake the tofu pieces splashed with soy sauce. Less fat too! :) 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Except it doesn't show the frying process, she wanted to keep it brief...I was disappointed because the frying part is the hardest for me! :(

Cher, I didn' t have egg replacer when I made it, I used cornstarch and it tasted fabulous!!!
I didn't even have time to take pictures of it; it was all gone :)
Lion, I didn't have any experience either (and really still don't!) but just be careful of how hot the oil gets- you might get splashed and it's not fun. Good luck- that recipe is the best!!

I've been vegan for two years now but I'm still a work in progress when it comes to tofu. I also used cornstarch for the egg replacer and it still came out fabulous. Follow the directions to the best of your ability (cause it seemed a bit time consuming to me) and see how it turns out. Adjust accordingly the next time you make it. Everything is trial and error. I think the sauce is what really makes all the difference. I used a non-stick pan with a little oil on low heat, it took the tofu a while to brown but nothing burned and I didn't have any oil popping on me. Dont' forget to read others comments in the review section of the recipe...
