Storing nutritional yeast

I couldn't find the nutritional yeast I wanted around my town so I ordered some from Amazon, Bob's Red Mill. It's great but since Amazon sells in bulk I now have four 8 oz bags :o and am trying to figure out best way to store them. I'm afraid of pantry moths/bugs getting into the bags.... Does anyone keep their nutritional yeast in the freezer?
In the summer I do, but not all year. I actually transfer everything I buy out of bags and into glass or tough plastic containers with TIGHT lids, or we get creepy crawlies in the rice, oats, etc. I use my quart canning jars for nootch, beans and stuff, pop a seal and lid and screw them on tight, works great.
If you are worried, I would keep them in the freezer, I do that because for the prices I pay for vegan and organic, there is NO WAY I am letting it go bad before I use it up!
I put mine in glass jars too
+3 on the glass jar. I just keep mine on my pantry shelf.
i keep mine in the fridge, but seeing as that it comes out of the (non-refrigerated) whole foods bulk bins, it's probably not necessary.
I have it all over :) I have an airtight oxo container in the pantry which I use almost daily, and i refill it from the fridge or freezer with backup nutr. yeast. I use it up pretty quickly, so I'm not worried about it going badly.
I have also bought the 4-pack of BRM from Amazon. I combined it in a tupperware container and stuck it in my deep-freeze. I take a couple of cups at a time and store them in a glass jar in the fridge. I just refill it from the freezer whenever I need to. Easy, easy.
The kind I bought came in its own canister..how long is its shelf life after the seal has been opened?

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up doing just what you're doing, most of it is stored in deep freeze.
Finally cooking with my yeast tonight, I'm making the southern fried tofu from Vegan Vittles. The recipe sounds sooo good, hope it turns out okay. :P

I have no idea how long before it goes bad because it never has. Before I started storing it in the deep freeze, I just left the canister in the pantry. Way back before I really liked it, I had a canister that must have sat there untouched for over a year before I came back to use it up. That first one was probably open a couple of years before it was gone. I go through it a lot faster now so I buy in bulk and I have more room in the deep freeze than the pantry. If freezing it isn't an option, though, I wouldn't even worry about it going bad sitting out. I doubt it ever will.
I had a 6lb bucket of Red Star Nutritional Yeast shipped from the U.S to Australia over 9 months ago and have kept it stored in the pantry. The lid on the bucket has a tight seal on it. I havent used it for quite awhile and after recently moving house i opened it up to check the contents and all was still fresh and good ;)
Thanks for the info! I don't use it that often so I was worried that it would eventually go bad.
I was having this same artichoke dilemma the other night and surprisingly found myself eating my artichoke with nothing on it at all because the O.J. I was dringking with it caused my mouth to explode from the combination of these flavors. It was like mad science. It sounds weird, but I vow never to eat another artichoke without drinking O.J.
Must give it a try.
