I just scored a....... (a thread about finding great deals!!!)

I  love to brag about how little I paid for something. Like my $2.00 boots, or $14 Tofurkey dinners. This thread is dedicated to all the good deals we find!  8-)

I just scored (2) three pound tubs of Earth Balance for $2.99!

At this gross discount grocery store which hardly has anything vegan, they had these HUGE ASS tubs of EB (commercial size?) for $2.99 each. I did not realize until I got home that she only charged me for one, and NO I did not go back to correct her error! It is sort of far away (now I'm sure karma will bite me in the ass at some point). But jeez.....6 pounds for 3 bucks! I need to take a picture so you can appreciate how large these are. They are bigger than my head.

Anyone else get any good deals lately?

I refrained from buying a salad spinner all these years.
I have a grater, fine and course.
Will this change my life?

ooo! I probably would buy it if I didn't already have a mandolin. I usually pat down salad greens after washing/before chopping cause I don't have a salad spinner either, but kind of want one, but won't buy one because it's another gadget to store. sigh. sorry, this didn't really answer the life-changing question... ::)

Just went to this place that sells like...everything. It's located in an old guy's barn, and he has pretty much anything you could imagine finding there, and the stuff is piled EVERYWHERE. Anyways, I found a set of these really cute crescent-shaped glass plates, a pint sized canning jar, a statuette, and a big-sized well taken care of cast iron skillet all for $10! Woo!

I almost bought a salad spinner for $2 at the Goodwill yesterday, but I stopped when I considered where I was going to store it.

So I must gush about this.
I got a Rising Moon Vegan Pizza for $4. These things are regularly $10!
And Annie's, oh my gosh, I'm completely and utterly obsessed with Annie's Mexican Dip bowl, yes $1.39 usually priced at $5.
Then, Annie's "hot pockets" were on sale for 79 cents regularly $3.
Vegan spring rolls for only $2, regular $7.
Vegan meatless meat balls, $2 regular $8.
Kroger is my happy place.

Also, vintage cardigan from the 50s, army vest, chiffon floor length skirt, black and gold army jacket, and penny loafers all for $3. And a bunch of hand painted 20s vintage jewelry for $5. I absolutely love little family owned re-sale shops.

i don't have a salad spinner right now and life sucks!!! i eat salad everyday and it is way cheaper to but the 3 pack of romaine and make it myself then buy the prebagged salad mix... this is one gadget i cannot live without!

BB: is that at all Kroger's?! or where they just trying to get rid of stuff?!

It was all at Kroger's. Some close out sale or I don't really know what to call it. I just know they rarely have them on vegan foods so I stocked up:D

I considered getting a salad spinner but my cabinets are full of antique plates and tea sets so I have no room. I even have a 1920s spice cabinet in one of my cabinets. Good thing the next door neighbors have one or else I couldn't make my kale chips:(

I got a nightie, white lace and it looks exactly like the one off of Grease, the one Sandy is wearing when she goes into the yard and starts singing. I love it<3

I found an early 70's hand appliqued dresden plate quilt at a thrift store clearance center for $3.  One block has significant damage from age but it can be folded and displayed without it showing.  It was pretty dirty, took 5 rinses in the tub before the water ran clear.  Came out absolutely beautiful.

amy, I don't even understand what you are meant to use a salad spinner for!  I have never seen one and never used one but that doesn't have any impact on my ability to make salads!

(I have one that I never bother to get out)
