A dear friend just introduced me to Librivox.org, a website that provides free recordings of books in the public domain. So OK, the readers aren't professionals, but there are a lot of books on there that I don't have access to. Yes, Gutenberg--but reading online tires my eyes. So I download a few sometimes. I love the fact that they have children's classics too. Not quite the same as curling up with your actual book, but it will do. I wish our apartment building were quiet enough to volunteer to record.
