NVR - Let's Pretend To Be Cool
By flouting our current musical whims in front of each other, eh?
Inspired by LadyDragonfly's thread (which I didn't want to derail with list making), I want you to share what your current musical fixations are, and maybe a playlist if you're up for it.
Currently: Surf is king in my ears, followed by Charles Mingus. But I've been feeling very schizo musically lately.
To point, my current stack of CD's for work today:
James Hunter - 'People Gonna Talk'
Zombie Ghost Train - 'Glad Rags & Body Bags'
The Duo Tones - 'Surf Music Unplugged'
v/a - 'Halloween Hootenanny' (a Rob Zombie compiled horror surf/psychobilly comp.)
v/a - Cheapo Crypt Sampler #2
The Boston Symphony Orchestra w/Seiji Ozawa - 'Carmina Burana'
Screaming Lord Sutch - 'Monster Rock'
Charles Mingus - 'Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus'
Hem - 'Home Again, Home Again'
The Sword - 'Age Of Winters'
Roky Erickson & The Aliens - 'The Evil One'
Witchcraft - 'Firewood'
The Pine Valley Cosmonauts - 'The Executioner's Last Songs Vol. 1'
Bad Religion - 'New Maps Of Hell'
Yes, I will probably get through all of that, if not most, today.

i also listen to much cheesy dance mixes when i have to drive fast. :D
i love daniel johnston and played a show with the guitarist of clap your hands say yeah a couple years ago, (he wasnt that good, cyhsy is much better!)
have you seen the devil and daniel johnston yet? what an interesting documentary, it really helps to make sense of all of daniels music. i always kind of thought that he made his music bizarre for the soul purpose of being bizarre, but no, hes just a really interesting guy.
ooh, badbrains! what songs? old or new? hehe i feel like i'm interrogating you...
self titled demo thingy and rock for light. Ive been trying to get into the new one but its not working very well. HRs vocals are just too medicated out for me

lucky you! i imagine seeing daniel live isnt so much about the music, but more of like watching an amazing train wreck! :) but i find his music and lyrics sooo vulnerable...its like really seeing a genius who just cant get out... you can see the struggle w. his mental illness in such simple terms.
but yeah, that movie was really great.
is that a song? what albums it off of?
