I hate to bust yer happy veg*n bubble, but I don't think that ant larvae are veg*n. Yes, the spider eats acacia tips, but also dines on ant larvae, acording to the video on Live Science. Sorry. It appears that the authors of those articles are using the term vegetarian very loosely. What else is new.

That's why the video is entitled "(Mostly) Vegetarian Spider...."
The thing that's groundbreaking about the discovery is that it's the first spider to dine primarily on plants and not other insects. Most spiders eat no plants of any kind. Relax! It's not as if there are ethical implications of whether or not the spider is a perfect vegan, it's just an interesting, rare discovery.

D'oh! I forget why now. I just remember reading nifty and thinking EXACTLY where I could have used it and it would have been perfect. I'm saving it in my arsenal of words for the next time. When I do, it'll be nifty.

I heard about this. I think it's awesome! I don't know if I love spiders but I do like them which means I'm fine if they're around.. most people think I'm nuts... I've picked up some really 'scary looking' ones and moved them outside. I also like bees, wasps, etc. -- I'll let them crawl on me if they land on me and just recently as I was walking down the hall way noticed a wasp crawling on the floor at work and got him and put him outside. It wasn't acting normal, may have been affected by colder weather? ???
Agreed. She's pretty neat looking!
Squee! She's soooo pretty! :)>>> little bitty spider faces and especially jumping spiders have cute bodies
