Awesome Vegan Ranch Dressing

What you need:

1/2 cup nondairy milk (I use Edensoy vanilla or regular flavor)
1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise (I use Nasoya Nayonaise)
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2-3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon dried or fresh parsley, finely chopped
salt and pepper, to taste

What you do:

Mix all ingredients in food processor.
This recipe tastes totally like the regular Ranch dressings on shelves in supermarkets. Everybody loves it and they all want the recipe hearing that it is vegan and so much healthier for you. I use it on salads, brown rice, baked potatoes, steamed veggies and a little thicker (add a bit more Nayonaise) as a veggie dip for raw vegetables. For the vegetable dip, I omit the red wine vinegar.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I have been making this dip for parties for the past few years ever since I found the recipe. People can hardly believe that anything vegan can be this delicious. I do alter the recipe to make it thicker & more of a dip as opposed to a dressing. Instead of using milk I put in a block of silken tofu and double every other ingredient except for the vinegar (I stick with 3 tablespoons) this yields much more than the original recipe, but again I make it for parties.

I really enjoyed this recipe! I wanted a dip for raw veggies so I used 1/4 cup soymilk and 1/4 cup Tofutti sour cream. Not healthy, I know, but delicious! I think it would be good with dill too.

This is AMAZING. thee only thing I would change would be to make it a wee bit thicker. So add less milk or add more mayo, then it would full non-vegans. this is a keeper for sure.

I tried to substitute fake sour cream (from: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=7140.0) for the fake mayonnaise.  Don't make that mistake.  Not good.

All you need to add is a teaspoon of dried dill to make it perfect. I also added the vinegar to the milk and let it sit, then processed. This was really really good.

I was very surprised with how good this tasted!  I used plain coconut milk for the nondairy milk-- I can't imagine the vanilla.  I followed everything else in the recipe exactly.  I really liked it.  I might add a little dill next time... but, overall, this was very good and easy to make!

WOW, this was so good and so satisfying.  Oh, I am so happy to have a vegan ranch now!!!  THANK YOU!

I added a bit of oil to the dressing to make it more oily (I like fatty salad dressings).  It was very very good. What a blessing!

Amazing. It tastes just like I remember. I usually go to this local vegan pizza place for my ranch (which they sell for a crazy almost 8 dollars a bottle), BUT I really wanted to try making my own. Me and my girlfriend love it. Perfect for salads and dipping veggies and whatever into. I will not be buying that expensive vegan ranch again! This is way better.  ;)b

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for thickening the recipe without adding tons of extra mayo? Is there a basic vegan thickening agent that would be sutable?

I haven't tried it, but possibly you could substitute dry soy milk powder, for the soy milk in the recipe and only add the liquid to that as needed, if needed at all.

This actually tastes like Ranch, it is pretty awesome seriously!!
I followed the recipe, however the dressing is so watery. It has been years since I had ranch so I will gladly take it that way...
but I am pretty new to cooking and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for thickening the recipe without adding tons of extra mayo? Is there a basic vegan thickening agent that would be sutable?
I also must say that after seeing how easy this was to make it seems silly that people pay $3 a bottle for Ranch when you can make it with just a few items most people already have!! ::)
Recipe is great, thanks!!
