"Whale Wars" on Animal Planet

Anyone seen it? Is it worth picking up the dvds? I just heard about the show today. It's a "Deadliest Catch"-ish type show that follows the Sea Shepherd folks and their campaign against the Japanese whale hunters. It looks interesting, and the subject matter is certainly very unique for a semi-major tv network. But is there anything in the show worth going out and buying the dvds? Or if you've seen the Greenpeace whale hunting videos have you seen it all?
I haven't seen it, but my coworker says it's good. He was telling me that they serve only vegan meals on the ship.

I haven't seen an entire show just bits and pieces. It is interesting, but from what i've seen, not interesting enough to buy the dvd.
I was wondering though if they served vegan meals on the boat.
I saw the first episode and it was OK...I might pick up the DVD's simply because i want to see the whole show and I don't have cable--also you can get the whole series retty cheep--last time I looked at was $13 pre-order on amazon, so not too shabby. I was hoping they would actually do something serious with it, but honestly, it does look like any other crappy reality show that focues on the tensions of the shipmates as opposed to the seriousiness of the situation with the whales...*sigh* at least people know Sea Shephard know--hopefully they are getting a butt-load of donations off of this...
My friend asked me if I knew about the show/Sea Shepherd, and I gave the impression that I'm kinda but not really familiar... and she went off on how they're "idiots" etc etc... o_o...
