I just really hate that song.

"We don't need no education."

Well you clearly do, Captain Grammar-Fail.

You know the kids are going to laugh at the word 'cock'.

yay beatles songs!
how old are the kids? I always think of camp songs for sing-alongs... get them geared up! you know the Princess Pat and the one with the tree in the ground and the green grass... that stuff isn't good if they're older but they're really fun to sing.
should these be songs the kids already know the lyrics to or songs that you think they should learn to be a respectable human being?

oh yeah!!!! i know a moose camp song.  btu thats about it.  about a moose and a deer going on a date.

it'll be for 1st and 2nd grade.  they all know how to read at least a little bit and i'll be handing out song books (made by me with whatever songs i choose).  so theyll get the lyrics.

I stuck out in my attempt.  I'd think of a great song, check out the lyrics and they weren't elementary-school-kid appropriate.

a couple that come to mind

Lambchop

this i the song that never ends
it just goes on and on my friends
some people started singing it not knowing what it was
and now they'll be singing it forever just because...
this is the song that never ends...

(some of the words may be a bit off, but i think i nailed the jist of it)

Hole in the Bucket

there's  hole in the bucket
dear liza dear liza
there's a hold in the bucket
dear liza, a hole

then fix it dear henry dear henry dear henry
then fix it dear henry
dear henry, fix it

song goes on much further.....

Bingo...

And bingo was his name-o

this song speaks for itself...

Ooomchocowilly (*not kid friendly)

i don't claim to have all the words exact but to the best of my recollection, ~yes~ this is what my "camp mates" were singing on the bus (ah, to be young again) - did i mention...

Ooomchocowilly was a f*cking machine
he was a mean mother f*er w/a hairy *ss
his b*lls were covered with fiber glass

he lined up a 100 women to the wall
and swore to the devil that he'd f*ck them all
f*cked 98 till his b*lls turned blue
took a shot of Rye, and f*cked the other two

and when he died he went to hell
f*cked the devil and his wife as well
and on his tombstone written in green
oomchocowilly was a f*cking machine

Found a Peanut

Found a peanut, found a peanut
found a peanut last night
last night i found a peanut
found a peanut last night.....

There was a bear

there was a bear there was a bear
a great big bear a great big bear

i actually forget most of the words to this, but it's prolly out there in google-land

one of my favorites "Roaches and the Bedbugs"

oh, woke up late one morning and looked up on the wall
the roaches and the bedbugs were having a game of ball
the score was six to nothing
the roaches were ahead
the bedbugs hit a grand slam
and knocked me out of bed
ouch!

My kids love "I Feel Good" by James Brown.  They breakdance to it.  ::) :-D

i know a kid that at that age LOVED flaming lips - "do you realize?"  he insisted on hearing it over & over in the car & would sing all the lyrics.. it was so cute... there is the lyric about someday everyone will die, but it's not in a scary way & he turned out normal so far.. the kids might also like the lips 'yeah yeah yeah song" or "waitin for a superman"
