"real"? that's a bit... ambiguous, isn't it?
You can make things real *for yourself,* if you believe in them enough: believe you're gonna get sick when it rains-- believe it hard enough-- & you'll get sick when it rains! BUT: (and this is significant:) you *can't* make it 'real' for someone *else* by believing it enough; that's where most book/ monodeity/ 'OneTruOnlyGod' religions start getting pissed off... Some things are objectively real, and provable: on this planet, if you trip and fall, you fall down-not-up 100% of the time. Really! But... 'real' is always subjective/ in quotes/ different from person to person, when it comes to spiritual/ philosphical/ emotional issues-- whether folks (or religious institutions!) want it to be or not!
*I* am totally ok with that; the loward, of the judeo-c books: not so much! Oh well... (shrug) the troll under the billy-goats' bridge doesn't approve of my spiritual views either... >:D
Sest la vye...

No, not in the religious sense. Organized religion was created to control and manipulate people. During the times of Greek mythology they actually believed Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were real and speaking against them was considered blasphemy, like speaking against Jesus or Muhammad would be considered today. No offense to anyone or their personal views but all religion is mythology, similar to early Greek, Roman, and other Pagan beliefs. The Universe was created by the big bang by a universal force and mankind is a channel for that force to interact with this physical world that we manifested. Every person has the ability to tap into this force, like a sixth sense, some are more in tune with it than others. Everything that exists in the Universe exists within our bodies, every element on the periodic table. We are the supreme beings in existence and that is the definition of God (or gawd). Everything is one. Lol, I can anticipate this thread bringing heated discussion.

God is real but you have to have faith... His existence was not meant to be proven... Honestly you think such magnificent beings came out of nothing, out of some mutant goo that somehow evolved into THIS? A "big bang" produced all of this? Well who was the big banger? I dunno this has been discussed before and these conversations tend to go in the same direction... Luv you peeps though <3

Amy, you know I'm a fan of yours and I'm not going to get into a war of words with you about religion. I agree to disagree and I'll leave it at that. ;)

This. I just dropped in to look, I'm not staying. Besides, in convos like this you're either preaching to the choir (on either side of the debate) or talking to a wall. Yes, I believe God is real.

I never have done. I had to attend church at boarding school but it honestly never spoke to me and I've never felt that I have particularly spiritual side.

Not so much. Certainly not in the biblical sense. Sometimes I catch myself hoping the Universe is listening to me, and I believe in Karma, but not God, the creator, by any means.
Does that mean I am spirtual? I dunno. I don't think there is really life after death, but I sort of believe in ghosts.

Wait! I thought that you did (which always really surprised me). I had it matched up with your other conservative beliefs.

I guess that makes sense to align it with my conservatism, but nope. I was raised in a Christian home, but have been Atheist since I was old enough to make my own decisions on faith/spirituality.

I don't believe in the traditional god that's associated with religion or the god that I worshipped as a kid. As I've explored the world in my mind and the world around me, I think there is some sort of energy that connects us all and some say that can be a "god". I just call it an energy. Ha. I've got more thoughts on this but I don't want to turn into philosopher Josh. :D
