Wicked Hummus

What you need:

1 tin 400g chickpeas
4 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons tahini
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 medium sized garlic clove
juice of half a lemon
salt (according to taste)

What you do:

I have tried several recipes from this website, even those with the most viewings but always found it was never as fluffy as they actually had described. So I've looked around and tried to modify recipes, also by reducing the amount of garlic to make it more of a mellow one. This makes a really great, soft and delicate hummus.
(Yes, 400 grams is the scary metric system).

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Hey guys,
Adding some ground cumin will kick this up to awesome!

The missing necessary ingredient is salt. I realize that salt is often considered a "bad word" but when used moderately the salt will bring out the flavor in all of the other ingredients.  I'd say a 1/2 teaspoon would do it.  Also, I like super garlic, so I used more.

This was a little bland for me and too thick for my blender to mix well, so I added an extra little drizzle of olive oil plus another 1 1/2 tsp or so of lemon juice and then it was just right.  Had it with pitta bread and it was yummy.

Awesome recipe. I altered it, as I always do by adding the juice of 1 whole lemon and added some cayenne pepper to add a bit of heat. I found blending all ingredients first in the blender until smooth and then adding the chickpeas made a big difference in the texture. Awesome recipe! Next time I will add some cumin, yum =)

For those who do find metric scary - a 400 gram tin is about the same as an American 15 ounce can.
