Ladies PLEASE Be AWARE of SOY, (

Soy may not be the healthy alternative that it’s been marketed as.

There is research that soy adversely affects the female reproductive system… The symptoms are similar to that of a yeast infection. ( That’s because the uterus is literally disintegrating and being discharged. (

Knowledge is Power!

Because of the lack of in-depth research, scientist are speculating that the effects of soy to the female reproductive system is directly correlated to how much you consume – moderate is supposed to be key…

Here’s to healthy living.

Here's what I read: No research... speculation.. unnamed "scientist."

Oh...I forgot to tell you all--you should stop eating organic frutis and vegetables, they will give you a disease that makes your limbs fall off..I had an apple this morning and I lost an ear, two toes and part of my hand... >:D

So THAT'S why my nose fell off this morning and landed in my oatmeal!  It was the devil organic banana that did it!

I don't know how that exclamation mark got in the subject line..odd..

Creepy...must be something to do with evil flying space monkeys...or perhaps a rouge carrot!

Here's a pretty good article that can ease your mind about soy. I don't really worry about it....but this did make me feel better for not worrying about it!

http://www.vegetarianorganiclife.com/17.htm

why is this in cookbooks???

I always tell the students I tutor: If you can't back it up by citing a source, don't put it out there.

It would be nice to have a few sources for this kind of information, other than the buzzword phrase "studies have shown." Which scientists? Where? Paid by whom? Size of sample under study? Length of study? Where was the sample group taken from? Cross-section? What about a control group, if any?

Oh my God! That's why!
I was wondering, since I have had those VERY SAME symptoms!! I actually ate an organic apple, fried in canola oil, nested in a bed of tofu. This may explain a lot.

Granted that wasn’t the best source to post but it was really late and the subject matter had been on my mind for a really long time…
I love this website & decided to post it in cookbooks because many people post recipes with canola oil and soy.
I’m glad that it has been read by so many people!  But really… there is no need to attack me personally… if you have research that disagrees with the information I’ve posted – then like someone has done post it.  Otherwise just know that my only motivation was/is to keep us as healthy as possible, )

Man--you just hit the tri-fecta of badforyouness! Do you have any thing left of you or are you now just a puddle?

Divadee,
I hope you know I was just having fun, since that article was so dramatic. I DO agree with you that canola oil is hype, and not a healthy oil at all. I am actually going to address that in my upcoming cookbook.

Wow!  How do I sign up for the whole uterus disintegration?  Seems much easier than a lot of other options.

I liked this article's rebuttal:  http://www.foodrevolution.org/what_about_soy.htm

Mind you, both of these are 7 years old.  How long do people get to trot out poor research and wave it like a flag against the much maligned soybean?

so how much tofu do I have to eat to be able to go off the ortho & not worry about getting pregnant?!?!?!

;D

Sorry, but seriously, where did you get that info?

In general I try not to eat ALOT of any one type of food, including soy and wheat.

I couldn't possibly have said it any better!

Divadee, I don't think anyone is attacking you personally.  It's just that the information is highly questionable when presented without any supporting documentation.

I agreee--it's hard not to poke fun when the information seems so rediculous
