NVR: For the knitters out there...

So, since becoming vegan, I've become felting-deprived. I used to make bags, hats, bowls, etc. out of felted wool yarn; however, I have yet to find vegan alternatives suitable for felting--are there any, or do I need to find a new knitting outlet?

Oh wow, that's so thin and tiny!  Cute!

h_h, the first video about knit cast-on is the one I looked at last night.  But thanks for the other ones.  I'll look at them.  I could use some info especially since I only know one way to knit...boring! :-[
I'm going to try to undo most of my project now.. I'll let you know how it goes. (not that I'll ever wear mine, I hate the color, but it's ok for practice)

There are a bunch of easier ways to cast on that I would use for straight knitting.  I'm not sure where I'd use the method in the videos I posted unless I doing a ribbed pattern and starting with both knit and pearl.

I'm happy there's someone at the beginning stages with me.

You should make feet on them. I think. More functional? Maybe that's just me thinking about the cold. They are cute. I have some pregan slipper things that are similar, but they have leather on the bottoms.  :-\

You guys should post patterns. There are a lot of patterns on www.ravelry.com too... I may look some up and post. We could do pattern-swapping//sharing!
Cold weather always is good for knitting-- and it's cold AND rainy over here!

Aren't they?  I saw them and thought MUST MAKE.

AC, no bottoms.  I just want them for the cute factor.  Stop being practical.

I took this into consideration, but you said "around the house." I guess you did say "and such." Feets could be cute..

Aww, move to CT and I can teach you how to make cables!  And then we can knit entire outfits for ourselves together!  With hats and sweaters and legwarmers.

Anyone who saw 'Como Agua por Chocolate/Like water for Chocolate' probably remembers Tita's amazing and huge blanket she knit that was like a mile long with all the different colors..... very inspirational for knitters! And romantic for Tita  :)>>>

It wouldn't be hard.  Depends how skilled she is, but they are really just tubes.  I have sold things and would probably charge at least $30 for them.  I would actually charge more if I were shipping them to someone, but I assume you won't be.  The do take a fair bit of yarn.

I dunno, see what she thinks is reasonable.  Neat!  :)
