Whats your least fav. veggie/fruit

i HATE beets! There so healthy for you though  :-\ . I try to cut them up real small but its always a struggle (I eat them raw).

Just curious ...do you have any veggie that no matter what its hard to eat? What about fruit.

Veggie-Beets
Fruit- Oranges (I LOVE clementines though)

You're not alone, Revvie. A lot of people think that cilantro tastes like soapy cat pee with a little dirt thrown in.

Funny thing is, there's a UK chutney company called "Magic Kitchen" that makes a coriander chutney that is yowza!! And yet I hate the fresh stuff.

I am one of those people that get "horse pee" from eating asparagus (or lime pickle). And I don't like cilantro. I wonder if there's a connection?

every one gets the funky urine with asparagus, but some people can't smell it (so people who deny it are equally smelly, mwahaha).

i used to not like raw tomatoes too, but i've gradually gotten used to them. i wouldn't eat one by itself (i know some who do...), but i'll eat it as salsa, bruschetta, on a sandwich, etc. I think i was used to crappy fast food slices of anemic tomato all those years.

i can't believe someone doesn't like peaches. blasphemy! is it the fuzzy skin, messiness? i can't understand not liking the flavor.

FB, I used to eat tomatoes like apples, with a little salt. Of course those were fresh off the plant, still warm from the sun, that I had grown myself. Not those styrofoam tomatoes they strip-mine in Texas during the winter. ;)

My mom does not like peaches because of the skin.  It creeps her out.

I do not like lychee.  They tast like eggs.

fb, my peach issues are more...well, the fuzz, and the fact that they just don't taste "right" to me unless they are soaked in red wine.  blame my Italian grandpa.  :P

I eat nectarines, tho.

And tomatoes, as long as they are cut small and the gack is absent.  pico de gallo, salsa, bruschetta, etc are OK

I wasn't sure what to say about veggies until someone reminded me of okra!  Bleah.

I had okra today and it didn't suck!  It was in gumbo and, surprisingly, not overcooked.  I might have to switch my answer to beets.

I hate eggplant and cilantro.

I don't care for beets or lima beans. I also don't care for green beans or peas unless they're in soup.

Hmm... fruit, I don't know as if I've had a fruit that I won't eat, lol!

oh...on the fruit front, melon of any description gacks me out.  The only exceptions being watermelon and pepino melon.

You cilantro haters are nuts. it's so..fresh and springy and clean tasting.

I don't like melons except perfectly ripe in season cantaloupe. mangoes i can't stand unless in smoothie form or dehydrated.
veggies I don't like..OLIVES, onions in any form, beets, taro root. Never met a green i didn't like though. Cauliflower is at the very bottom of my tolerable list,  but only in a mashed potato form or sometimes when i'm starving and there's no other veggies i'll eat it plain, raw. but cooked and whole is a no go.

I also strongly dislike the taste of anise and natural licorice.

taro root? crazy.

i don't like the taste of raw broccoli or cauliflower, but i like them cooked.

it's interesting that you say that cilantro is "clean tasting" because cilantro-haters often say it tastes like soap. Clean, soapy, potato, potahto?

I don't really think it tastes like soap but I can understand the "clean taste" but Idk, I despise it. I took the plunge and bought some once and tried it and I couldn't even stand the smell. It made me puke, literally. I couldn't even stay in the house afterwards.

crazy cuz you like it or cause it's rare?
I don't like cooked broccoli :p

potato, potahto indeed. I drink cilantro green smoodies for breakfast i like it so much.

crazy because i like it, and also i didn't think it had a distinctive enough taste to be hated. it seems like disliking taro would mean disliking potatoes too, at least to some degree.

fruit: hmmm i don't really eat much fruit since i'm obsessed with veggies... I can't eat oranges, i hate the white stuff separating the pieces, it makes me barf

veggies: eggplant or okra... slimy and sick, or even overcooked asparagus makes me gag

I think it's just because it has a really starchy mouth feel to me. One that differs from potatoes, almost..powdery feeling? it's hard to explain. Potatoes are probably lowest next to cauliflower on my likes list, though.

I have to admit cauliflower isn't my very favourite veggie, either. Unfortunately it's one of the few DH likes, so I do cook and eat it. Raw it has absolutely no appeal for me. It's kind of bitter and sulphur-y. Cabbage is in the same family but doesn't bother me raw.

yeah, i get that. it's starchy to the point of pastiness sometimes. what about taro-flavored things, like steam buns?
