I'm serious.
What helps you go? I so need some tips right about now.
It seems that every couple o' years I try the vegetarian thing and this time I'm 36 years old.
Some thing is different. This change of diet might actually stick this time.
But... Or should I say butt?
This time around my focus is on non-leavened bread, beans and rice as the staple.
Yada, yada, yada,
Apple juice works wonders for my movement moments.
Prunes don't live up to there name.
What works for you?

This thread may help --> Vegan Poo
Peanut butter toast for breakfast.
2 tablespoons of olive oil before breakfast...gross but effective.
Hot, strong coffee.
(Not all together, of course!)
You may need to change strategies from time to time as your body gets used to whatever works and suddenly it doesn't anymore.
Lentils and chickpeas always do it for me..
Sweetcorn or corn cob too.. thats a definate!
Good luck and happy pooping!

green smoothies....
apple, kale, water and agave blended together.
i am SOOOO regular since going veg its insane.
I can't hold it in half the time!
quite the opposite of constipation
;)
cherries!
seriously, you will be a cherry pooping machine soon after eating them
The staples of your diet should be fruits and veggies, they are intense in the fiber, and have tons of water which is also a must do. If you don't drink enough water you can get constipated. I drink a minimum of a half gallon of water every day and have never had a problem.
I read somewhere that the basis of a good poop is fiber and drinking enough water. I think part of the secret is to make sure that you're eating enough raw food, like fruit and veggies.
(Why is this on the Food & Cooking board? I chuckle to myself every time I see it near the What Did You Eat Today thread.)
exercise helps too... try jumping up and down for awhile..
Running. And lentils.
Coffee.
Almost immediately. :-[
Cocaine.
Cocaine.
Not veg*n, nor particularly helpful, given that it's an illegal substance.
But hey, it works.
alcohol works too......
alcohol works too......
Cheers to that!
Milk.
10-15 raw walnut meats, in my case. Don't know if this is so for everyone. Don't even know why it's so for me.
Lactulose ~ you can get a script from your doctor and it costs about $5. It's used to clean the bacteria out of your intestines or for constipation. It reminds me of sugar syrup but it does the job. 3 times a day, after day one or two you will be pooping like it was your job! Good luck :-D
A big bowl of collard greens and pinto beans. Cheap dinner, too ;)
I have pretty severe IBS-C, so I've tried almost every "cure" in the book in an effort to get moving again.
After years of misery and way too much $$$ down the drain in medical expenses, I've finally found a combination of practices that for the most part keeps me pretty regular:
1. Taking Miralax 1-2 times daily (now available over the counter at a relatively decent price; infuses water and fluids into GI tract)
2. Eating fiber-full food (about 30-40 grams per day) AND drinking 10-12 cups of water per day.
3. Okay, here's the big one... YOGA! :w00t!:
If all else fails, yoga will make me poo. When things get backed up, my asana practice does more for me than laxatives and enemas ever could. Twists and inversions especially.
Good luck!
