I have BBC's Persuasion on, but I can't really get into. I've heard thought that BBC's Sense & Sensibility is good. Of course I"ve watched the Ang Lee Emma Thompson version which is superb... I may get it this week to see :P
I watched Sunrise, an old silent movie last night. Really good, and ahead of it's time in alot of ways.
Haha, another one languishing on my DVR!
we really should get together for a movie night!!
we really should get together for a movie night!!
I wish!
Transformers 3 Dark Side of The Moon. Well actually all the Transformers movies.
I fell in love with The Justice League!! I love cartoons and I am infatuated with Wonder Woman now.
Batman movies human and animated.
Superman movies human and animated.
Sunrise is good stuff!!
I am such a lightweight ("How lightweight are you?") that The Others got inside my head to an inordinate degree. The acting was better than I expected.
Since delivery date on my stuff is next Monday, I am rewatching Mad About You.
9FS, I hadn't finished my morning coffee when I read this post:
The Man That Fell to Earth, a David Bowie movie from the 70's. Really bad!
It was awful when it came out...I was around then...I can hardly imagine what it looks like to modern eyes! Does it qualify for "so bad it's good", or is it just...pathetic?
I am sitting here impatiently waiting for my DVDs to turn up from Amazon!! Season 2 of Dharma and Greg, the full series of Bill Cosby, and an English animation thing.
I saw that over ten years ago for the first time, and I am still disturbed and scarred by naked aliens.
Because the last series I mentioned was Bill Cosby, I thought the "naked aliens" were something from that and I was like, "Whhaaaa?" Then I read it in context. After I cleaned the coffee off the screen!
Currently watching S:1 of The Riches, slow in parts but so far so good
I have been watching a ton of 80's slasher movies. These:
Basket Case
The Burning
Maniac!
The Toxic Avenger
Evil Dead
I have also seen a few other horror movies too: Devil's Rejects, The Exorcist, Aftermath, Deadtime Stories Vol 1 & 2, and some Argento films (Deep Red and Tenebre)
SB, have you seen Shallow Grave?
No. Should I add it?
No. Should I add it?
yes!!!
Of course it's not available on Netflix. :(
Skyline.....plllllt!
Case 39
I thought this was cah-reepy. It started to fall short near the end, so I think it could have been better, but I was entertained. I think Renee Zellweger is a bit weird, but good in this. The scene with the hornets was pretty horrifying to me for some reason. 4/5
Last night I watched How to Die in Oregon - A great documentary film about physician aid-in-dying. Oregon was the first state to legally allow such practice and when it was legalized in 1994, they were the only state to allow it. The film explores the thoughts and feelings from family, friends and (of course) the patient regarding the Death with Dignity Act. It certainly was a thought-provoking film that was put together nicely.
If A Tree Falls: A Story of the Environmental Liberation Front - A documentary that dives into the exploration of environmental activism while making a statement about corporations, consumerism, environmental issues, and general activism. Great film! :)
Season One of the Cosby Show. I now see that the episodes my mom videotaped for me in the 90's had been cut to ribbons. There are whole subplots that I'd never seen before. Apparently Spanish TV was given the cut-up versions to dub. What ticks me off is that there are no English subtitles...just Dutch. Boo.
Season Two of Dharma and Greg. English subtitles but no extras.
Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead
Withnail and I......just couldn't get into it
Season 1 of Walking Dead, which is pretty mediocre. Definitely don't get what all the hype is about.
Season 5 of King of the Hill
and some horror:
Cannibal Holocaust
Graduation Day
Withnail and I......just couldn't get into it
Aw, I liked that one. I first saw it not long after its release and then again in the last year or so. Not quite as good as I remembered, but still pretty funny.
Tonight I'm watching the Hammer film, Horror of Dracula, again.
